We're a law firm investigating the non-payment of overhead and profit during Hurricane Ike in Texas in 2009. If you're an independent adjuster who worked on that hurricane, I'd like to talk to you. We're investigating the conduct of residential property & casualty carriers, not independent adjusters.

Let's see, this looks to be the same comment from the Hurricane thread. Did not work there so why not try here?

Remember everyone, this is a plaintiff attorney outfit. Everything you think, or say can and will be used against you and everyone else in the court of public opinion and maybe even a court of law.

Would it even be ethical for an independent adjuster to cooperate with a plaintiff attorney even if they felt slighted by the carrier for whom they worked. I think a sense of ethics would preclude retaliatory actions even though the carrier seems to have abandoned fair play. In thirty six years in the business I have never been named as party to a lawsuit. Now with all the frivolity being demonstrated by plaintiff attorneys in Texas I've been the object of three suits. Don't think I'll ever work for a Texas based carrier again without a solid hold harmless in place. The fact that we acted on their instructions(the carrier) should be enough of a reason for them to file a defense on our behalf. Although leaving us out in the cold fosters a want to penalize good ethics should prevail.
