Roof Chalk 47283 40
Started by JimGary
Just wondering what you olde....I mean more experienced guys use to mark your roofs. I use welders chalk, its hard and lasts a while, and its not as messy as colored sidewalk chalk. But is is hard to see on a grey 3 tab or white roof. I was walking the roofs on a local school district with some 'engineers', and they used a colored chalk but I couldnt get close enough to see what kind it was. I followed one guy who used electrical tape&160; in an arrow shape to point, but that is too much troubl...

Xact Disto Integration 4100 1
Started by ihcalan
I would like to hear from someone who is actually using a Disto w/ Xact.&160; My 'vision' is that I&160;can measure a room with a disto and then click a few buttons and have a sketch in Xact.
However, my research seems to indicate that I need to sync the disto with xact, then type in measurements on the disto and they will show up in xact.&160; That is completely useless for multiple reasons.
Anyone

What size ladder for 2 & 3 story? 11347 3
Started by Goldust
&160; I travel in a p/u w/ a 6' box and a full cab height canopy. I have been trying to decide what ladder, for 2 & 3 story would break down enough to fit in the canopy. I would rather not have to install a ladder rack on the canopy if I can keep from doing that. Anybody have some good ideas

Somethings I'll be using this storm to send the insured a message that I care about their home are booties.&160; For a few cents each you can get a good supply of slip over booties at any medical supply house.&160; When you have to go inside the house after a walk around in the mud or a trip over a flat roof with fresh cold tar patching materials, just slip these over your shoes and in you go.&160;

Putting together cat supplies 11307 8
Started by ryoungblood
Hey! I am new to adjusting. I have been a contractor, and also have an insurance background, and I am going into adjusting because several adjusters that I know have told me that I would be good at it (and my remodeling business has gone down by 80 in the last 3 yrs!). I expect it to be hard work and long hours, but I'm doing that already and making next to nothing!
I have been talking to adjusters, reading forums, and doing everything that I can to make sure that I am as prepared...

Vehicle and Ladder 14220 21
Started by Boone
What type of vehicle do you drive and What ladder do you use
I am currently driving an F-250 Diesel and using a 24' extension ladder.&160; I handle mostly daily claims and average 3200 miles a month. I love having a big truck, but fuel prices are forcing me to look for a smaller vehicle. I am having a hard time finding a way to transport the ladder. Roof racks will be my only option, but on the small cars the ladder hangs off the racks a long way. Would like to hear from others on the issue.

Do you just get so frustrated with your windows computer loosing the printer drivers or failed to function right in the middle of a storm. How about the good ole hard drive crashing and then you have to find someone capable enough to pull the data off so you can try to get back to work.
I have stumbled on the answer, well at least it has worked for me. I am a accomplished flood adjuster and I have encountered most if not all the pitfalls that comes with running a windows computer. The answe...

I know that Windows users ocasionally have some problems with their systems, (found 95, 98, ME to be junk, XP Pro is good, Vista I don't like and I haven't worked with Windows 7 much) and not everybody is prepared to change to MAC (or Linux - if Xactamate supported it).&160; I know that there are users of all levels on this forum, and figuring that the more advanced users already have some of the issues worked out, I will be targeting the less experienced user.
I wanted to make sure that my sy...
