I am interested in purchasing a carbon fiber ladder.

This post is directed toward leads, do you know a supplier of ladders made of carbon fiber?

There's one in China, just google it. There's also a designer ladder with only 25 pcs made. And I saw a company that makes ladders for yachts, so one person can pick it up. There's also one for window washers but it doesn't look tall enough for an adjuster.

Maybe you can design one for adjusters. How about one in 3 sections that can be turned into a field desk or a lectern type thing for typing estimates while standing up.

At what price? A 4 pound ladder would just be too cool.

Carbon fiber and aluminum have one thing in common. They conduct electricity.

That designer ladder that Leland mentioned above was made by an artist who sold a carbon fiber table for $150,00. Since it's just a work of art, I'm not interested at this point. Yer right Chuck, that would be too cool.

Buford, you're absolutely correct on the conductivity. I suppose you could get copper stakes to ground your ladder if you want to climb in an area with exposed wires- lol.

Those fiberglass ladders are extremely heavy. I'd rather forego the extra weight and administer an extra measure of caution.

Anyone who has been shocked knows that electricity, especially high voltage electricity, picks a path to ground. Certainly aluminum is conductive, but so is sweat.

Generally speaking the building code and laws governering the placement of electric lines provide a modicum of safety.

Work a claim where a boom connects with a 17KV line, that bare wire at the top of the pole. The electricity will ground thru steel belted radial tires.
