Bad Credit Disqualify New Adjuster? 10343 3
Started by jwhitney
My credit was perfect until 2009, Then I was out of work for a while, and my credit record tanked bad. I was 60,90, even 180 days late reported for a long time (years) before I caught up. Never defaulted on my mortgage or car loans but the payment history is bad until about 2 years ago. Two collection accounts I was unaware of are on my credit report. They did not have my contact information so I was never notified. When I found out and contacted me, they had offered a 50 pay...

Training offer 8179 14
Started by TexasPride
Hello,
I have recently became a licensed all-lines adjuster. I'm registered for Haag and NFIP certification courses within the next 2 weeks. I took an Xactimate class (no certification), but it was a breeze for me. I was miles ahead of my class, and I really loved using Xactimate. I've practiced using Xactimate on my house, and several others.
I've been in contact with a firm who has decided to go ahead and offer me a 'conditional offer of employment contingent on a ...

Advice on how to get into daily claims 7167 3
Started by texasaggie
I would like some advice and thought this would be the best place to get it. I am getting back into the Cat Adjuster field after being away for 15 years. I was an adjuster years ago and loved it but got out and got a 'regular job' when my wife had twins. Now that they are in high school and my wife is a stay at home mom, I feel this is a good time. My question finally..., How do I get into 'daily claims' while still wanting to work Cat claims when they come up I as...

4 wheel drive, needed in your opinion? ...Help buying new truck. 6587 21
Started by NoleAdjr
I was curious if any adjusters with many years of experience with catastrophe deployment and independent work have found themselves in situations where they actually NEEDED the 4 wheel drive on their truck/vehicle. Some I have talked with say you never know what kind of road you might have to drive down to get to a claim, especially after a storm and rain. Others do all their work from a 2 wheel drive van
I work mostly in the southeast US, I just wanted to hear if real experi...

Hello, need some advice please. 4062 9

Hello all. I was licensed last year in Texas and went thru the AMCAT training program. Unfortunately, this economy has killed my current profession and I need another source of income. Obviously, I need some experience and after reading thru some of these posts, it seems a staff position might be the best avenue to pursue. Do you expereinced adjusters agree with this thinking Can anyone recommend a few company's that might be hiring at this time Did any of you experienced adjust...

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my thread.
I have been a storm chasing salesmen/estimator for 8 years now. This past summer I decided that I would get my Texas All Lines License this winter. I still love being a salesmen, but storming gets more shady by the year, and finding a decent company to work for is getting harder and harder. I understand that you guys have to be 10 times more detailed and accurate when scoping a home. I understand that you guys cannot just take a wee...

I know it has been asked before, but I am new to the forum and just recently gotstarted in claims. I am currently going through my training right now for the Texas license. I was riding along with a IA in the DFW area, but he has since been deployed to the Gulf Coast for claims relating to the oil spill. I am trying to find someone in the DFW area that would possibly let me ride with them on daily claims because I know the best training for this job is field training. ...

Hello everyone. I've spent quite a bit of time reading the forums on this site and have gained a lot of insight. I've worked for a State Farm agent for over 15 years now, but I'm looking for something more challenging that will provide me with some independence. I've been considering cat claim adjusting for some time now, but looking for something in more of a support type role where I may be more qualified. Do these jobs exist I'm wondering if this may be a better...

Do I fit into any part of this industry? 3405 5

My first inclination about insurance adjusting is that it might fit me perfectly to become an independant agent, even though I have no experience in insurance or construction. I feel that I would need to be develop a niche segment, I just wonder if this niche exists.
Let me explain:
I already have a successful business (not like millionaire successful, but pays a good wage), but I want to get out more and deal with people.
I have been self employed successfully for more than 20 years in ...

Transferring to field property 3821 4
Started by gurublues
I'm a property adjuster with four years of experience. This experience has been inside the office rather than in the field. I know that some of the adjusters on this site would not consider people like myself to be real adjusters. I will briefly attempt to preclude the waste of time (theirs and mine) spent on negativity by clarifying that I have been with Pilot for four years without being laid off, up until recently, and without having any connections in the office prior to being employed. I be...

One nice and sunny day in Oklahoma, I awoke still sleepy from a few hours sleep as I scoped and wrote estimates for repairs from recent Tornados. Partial towns, and neighborhoods literal wiped off the maps. Pure Catastrophe.
I had chance to meet & greet several adjusters, of the 6 or so I met 100 stated they had excess of 10 years Adjusting each. Impressive talk, so I decided to treat this as a study. I asked them all if they wanted more work on the daily side, and asked them to ...

The Davises say on July 27, 2010, a hail storm pounded the Katy area and damaged their ...
