I have worked as a property adjuster since 1990.&160; I started with Aetna and worked as a regular territory based staff adjuster (5) years, then independent staff (10) years and in between contract CAT appx (4) years.&160; I have worked all the big events and have consistently made a decent living working claims&160; for the past 19 years.
I never post and I guess maybe occasionally I&160;should but this year seemed a bit like 1997 to me, would I be correct there or am I missing something...

Any of you guys make any money doing daily claims&160;
My experience is that since I have experience, then I do the daily claims and make no money.&160; Our inexperienced guys get sent to do the CAT work like hail storms because all they really need to know is how to measure a roof and take pictures.&160;
&160;
The end result is that they make a ton of money measuring roofs while I work complicated daily claims and don't make squat.&160;
Anyone else ever dealt with this before

I have been trying to find information on how long it takes for mold to form on a wooden baseboard. The water leak was under a tub and seeped through the baseboard.&160;The tenant noticed a little bit of water every day but assumed it was from his 2 children under 5 yrs splashing water while taking a bath. I adjusted a commercial fire that appeared to be caused by one of these switches, be aware of this possibility when there is a Ford vehicle involved, be sure to think about c/o investigations and subro potential.
The cruise control switch is always energized ('hot') and more volts are going into the Texas Instruments chip than it was designed for... brake fluid starts on fire. Preserve your evidence scene, tape it off until your C/o experts gets control of the scene...

For Months now we all have been listening to the debate on health care reform. As adjusters it would seem that this would be a mute&160;topic given our industry. Of course, it's not. About 20 years ago some of the old timers told me the people who make a good living in catastrophe adjusting have 4 key days and the deployments were roof claims for the most part and I think its a good gauge. Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th and Lqabor Day. It,s a fact a farmer will not have a good crop if it does bot rain enough or rains too much. Kinda like the cat. adjuster huh Needs weather events over large populated areas.

OK, I'm going to ask a dumb question. I&160;have not dealt with property in a very long time. I'm a worker's comp adjuster.
My boyfriend's home was burglarized a couple of weeks ago. I looked at his dec page and it makes no sense to me.

I'm in Austin, and the roofing sales market is now saturated with competition. I've been inspecting roofs for two months and practicing with XM8, so I'm wondering if this would be a good time to get certified as a cat adjuster. The insurance companies are currently sending adjusters from other parts of Texas that are hours away to look at my roofs.
