So I am a young guy, just getting my licensing here in GA.
For the past 2 years I&160;have been working with the roofing companies here in GA. First, I&160;was selling for Kaiser... not to bad. Good guys, actually out there to do a good job and not scam people... And then&160;I got an offer to run the production of an another roofing company, was kind of sketchy but hell I&160;couldn't compain, I&160;was 21 years old making 40k a year and still in college!

Some time I forget how I was trained. I was trained one on one for several months by a senior adjuster who I was assigned to by our employer to give me a segment of my training. But I read about 200-300 files that were closed before I was hired and about 20 new files that came in about 20 per day from staff and IA adjusters in the SW USA.
Thinking back I learned more from reading actual files and ask questions and it stayed with me more.

I broke into catadjusting in 02 and I can remember the barrage of new adjusters during the big 4 in o4. I can recall being still fairly new to the buisness and seeing all of the new adjusters that were deployed as warm bodies. It was a good feeling to have a couple of years under my belt during Frances,Jeanne,and Charley and I can still remember the bewildered look in the eyes of the new crop.
I can only wonder how many of those adjusters are still around.......

I&160;am about to get my Florida Adjusters License and was wondering if I&160;were to get a Home Inspection Certification would help as far as getting local work with insurance companies

Greetings my name is Danny Cave and I have been an adjuster for over 16yrs.&160; I recently made the switch to general contractor for monetary reasons and wanting to stay home around my kiddos.

The large carriers who have most of the homeowners business will probably stay the same. Some back street vendors will cut el cheapo deals to get new business. Some of the vendors will have two billing schedule's mine and yours. Some will not show you theirs until you show them yours. Some will pay when you catch them. Some will pay when you make them. Some will never pay. Some don,t deserve any pay. Some pay ever two weeks.

My&160;family (Dad, brothers, sister) has been cat adjusting since 2003 working with mostly one vendor. Prior to that we were on the agent side of things. We are interested in slowing down on the traveling part and starting a local adjusting company in southern VA.&160; We are just tossing this idea around since there are few local adjusting companies in our rural area.&160;I am in need of advice as to how to analize this decision and steps to take to get started.
