Does anyone have information about the new florida laws with regard to temporary lisencees
These laws do not effect me, as my TX license reciprocates, but I received an email from a firm stating that background checks and drug screenings were mandatory this year for anyone working claims in Florida, was just wondering if anyone else had received this same info.
Is this becoming the standard

I am a newly licensed adjuster and for some reason I am having trouble generating clients. Does anyone have any ideas for generating new clients or any kind of advertising. Does anyone know of any sites that tell you when your local area is hit by storms, hail, rain, wind, etc;, If anyone can give me some ideas on how to promote my business and what I can do to get it off the ground that would be a big help.

I'm taking the NC couse at this time to get my adjuster license. Looking into auto to start due to my background in a service department and body shop. Last year as a service advisor my income was near 40k can I expect to make more after a few years of experience as an adjuster. Have app 20 ft of custom Corian countertop, two sections of base cabinets are water damaged from a leak, contractor wants to replace the countertop as he says that it cannot be removed, I have a hard time with that, has anyone encountered this and is it possible to support and remove the base units, without a new 10K countertop

Where I am located, the amount of claims have dropped considerably. I am considering file examination on the side, on a contract basis. But I am unsure what is a fair fee per file to expect. This isn't for CAT work, just daily claims. I think I could reasonably review 10 small to average size claims per day. I have been in the field for nearly 3 years now and handled a great deal of reopened files, which I think would be beneficial experience. I have always had great comments on the completeness...

I have a question that seems to get mixed answers.
In a home that has been damaged by fire, some of the trusses and studs that were not damaged need to be treated to make sure they do not smell like smoke. Some say to use silver nitrate paint then seal, while others say clean and use several coats of sealer.

After all these years, I have an unaswered question:
Of course when working as an employee, ownership of your work product passes to the adjusting company and client immediately.
I have always "heard and been told" that an IA, when working as an independent contractor retains ownership of his/her work product until such time as they are compensated for the work product.

Ok, I have a question on figuring the squares on a simple hip roof.
In a pre-test for certification with a carrier there was a question involving a simple hip roof with a 10' extention.
They wanted to know what the sf of the roof was and what the sf of the north and west slopes was.
One method is the up and over. You take the length of house x rafter x 2 = total sf. and then take the extention length x the rafter length and add to that = total sf quick and easy.
