11 Replies and 8460 Views Can Someone Post Up What Hail Dmg'd Shingles Look Like?  8460  11 Started by  tennadjuster just wondering if anyone had some pics of hail damaged shingles and roofs   I'd like to be able to identify the difference between deteriorated shingles from age, rain, wind, as opposed to shingles being destroyed by hail. I've been working wind claims strictly for the past month, and don't know what my next assignment will bring, but if I get thrown into hail claims, I'd like to be prepared to at least somewhat know what to look for.   Thanks much!

18 Replies and 10134 Views A liability or?????  10134  18 Started by  MJW Asking the adjusters here. We have had some cancellations to meet with us on jobs because it was raining or the roof is wet. Adjusters say they cannot see hail if the roof is wet....They say it would not be fair to the homeowner to come out if the roof is wet.... Can this be true (I haven't had a problem seeing hail on a wet roof) Is it a liability of the adjuster's insurance Do they just not want to go out in the rain

4 Replies and 5364 Views Fee Schedule for 2 Story Roof  5364  4 Started by  OdieWyatt How many carriers will pay an extra $25 or so for a 2 story inspection Granted the roofer's charge for the 2 story roof will increase the gross loss, but for the same size house, the 2 story roof is smaller. It is more work (and more danger) for me to take out my heavier two story ladder and climb up two stories instead of one. Does the vendor have to be pushed to include this extra, or do the good vendors insist on it or include it automatically in their negotiations with the carrier Should...

5 Replies and 4803 Views Like kind & quality    4803  5 Started by  butch sanders Is color taken into account, when roofing tile needs to be replaced I have a customer with a tile roof, that is no longer manufactured. All of the salvage yards have been searched, and the tile or accesories are not available. The carrier claims color doesn't matter, and suggest using a completely different product . Also they only want to replace 30 foot of  ridge. This means the homeowner will have 2 different types of ridge. I cannot warranty a repair like this, and it will look hor...

3 Replies and 4522 Views Indiana hail  4522  3 Started by  Hail_Boy (1) The main hail event occurred on April 14, 2006, with more minor events in May, July and Sept.  It appears a plan is underway by several ins.
