You have to expect this in the mix of things, and just accept it.  How many times do you have the easy walk-on's where you get the same rate as the 1-story 5-6/12's?   

Exactly, A funny side note, I had a roof claim on a large home in Arkansas, 3 sides were underground only about 2 feet of wall exposed, then a typical hip roof above ground. The roofer called and wanted a high charge, because the south side of the house was a two story. It sort of hung off a mountain. I laughed, he laughed, he called the supervisor, supervisor called me we all laughed.  He was persistant, I don't if they relented, but I didn't. When I left over a month later, they were still getting called. Oh yes and the fee bill was about $500, and I never pulled my ladder out.

I have not seen on in many years. In the very cold states in tornado ally, that had basement houses. The intent was to dig out a basemant and let the stone or  walls stick out of the ground about 36 inches and then build the frame house. The owners would just put a flat deck and built up roof and live in the basement until they decided to go up.

I had one in Denver owned by an 80 year old old maid and she coated the built up roof with mobil home coating by herself.
