Well after 3 years of waiting I have been called back to work. I arrived in Dallas 9/2/2008 and still being retrained again for deployment most likely back to Louisiana.

What brand of rust remover is your vendor using?  Would you recommend it to the rest of us?

Pilot is doing some very interesting things in Dallas. Many new idea's on working claims from call centers and from HOME. Pilot has always been the leader in catastrophe adjusting.

Ray, your absolutely right. Pilot has been a leader. They have also been the leader that caused our fee schedules to go down by reducing their fees to get more business. For the other vendors to compete, they had to lower their fees. I don't wish to thank them for that.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

I did not get back into cat. work until 1994 and most of my years with Pilot was on the Allstate Fee, but I worked as much as anyone else. I got into SF with pilot the last few years and the fees were a little better. I hate the think it will happen, but I think you will see large hurricane losses getting closer to the NFIP schedule as time goes on. I saw a fee schedule for commercial losses LOWER than NFIP this week. I am still at home.

I'm scheduled to go to Pilot in Dallas next week for evaluation and Allstate certification. Was told to bring everything needed for deployment since we will most likely be deployed straight to cat site. No indication where as of now. I also don't know yet what pay rate will be, but was told I will be a W-2 employee, not 1099. Don't really know what to expect, or what to ask for. Any advice or inside info appreciated.

Well I have been so busy learning the new software nextgen and scoping claims in Kenner LA that I haven't been able to take a moment to put a post here. Claims in Kenner are small and the 5 percent deductable really is having an affect on the insureds. Perhaps when Im finished here I will be moved over to Texas (( Home )). Wife just called and said the power just came back on in Spring Texas,, Also Cable TV is back on,,, Great revcovery time if you ask me..................................

Larry,

Glad to hear that you and the family are safe and sound.

This was more than just a little ol' Texas wind storm, ya know

Happy Trails
