We just had a 5.8 earthquake near Chino Hills, CA (about 30 miles from downtown LA). We felt it here in San Diego, more than a hundred miles away. As a reference for those unfamiliar with the Richter Scale, each .1 is exponentially higher than the .1 before it. The Northridge Earthquake was a 6.7 and therefore many many times more powerful. A 5.8 is on the high side of moderate and will likely create some damage, much of it under the deductible.
I wouldn't pack my bags on this one, but a couple people may get some work.
