"Dolly came ashore Wednesday, the 23rd of July 2008, over South Padre Island, just north of the Texas-Mexico border, as a category 2 hurricane with sustained winds of 100 mph. "  This was the first Hurricane to make US landfall during the 2008 season.

 

Since no one got all three parts (hurricane, state and date) of the contest correct, we decided to go with the one that got the closest. I hope you feel this is a fair way to handle this.

Russ picked Aug 8, which 16 days after the landfall date

Anitab143 picked July 3, which is 19 days before the landfall date

 

Based on the above Russ would be closest to getting all three parts correct and thus the winner of the nuvi 760.
