Working for a contractor for $75 per roof on a 1099 basis.  Payment made per settled claim (insurer to contractor?).  At 80 roofs a month it would be a gross of $6000, less self employment tax of approx 2k.  Figure expenses high at 2k and what is left is 2k for 80 roofs.  Seems like a lot of work for the net amount.  And not a realistic long term goal, as I don't think I would want to do 80 roofs a month for an infinite length of time.  Would you take the job?

Payment made per settled claim. So your not even guranteed $75.00 per roof. No way would I even think about that twice.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Hahaha, thanks everybody.  Yes, I also figured that even at settled claim it would end up being like $25 a roof.  Thankfully, I have options and can afford to be choosey!

I would not even consider the gig unless you were getting 10% of the loss amount and the company had an aggressive marketing team that had carrier contracts in place and would beat the buhes for you.
