Assuming a major hurricane does hit... 3791 6
Started by huntstyle
We all know the forecasts don't always pan out, plus it depends WHERE it hits, but let's assume for a minute that a major hurricane hits south Florida or something. Should that happen, what is the best way to go about getting into CAT adjusting for the storm I've been in insurance restoration for 2 years, and in fact was in Houston for Ike, so I'm familiar with hurricanes, and I use Xactimate. I know to save money afterwards and all of that, and that's not a problem. Onc...

To all Experienced Cat Adjusters: Is this possible? 4613 7
Started by StephW
I have a question to pose to all of the experienced Cat Adjusters and I just want to let you all know up front that I am not a time waster, nor am I looking for a shortcut into the business that involves learning a limited amount of info so I can quickly get started. I know that a career in Cat Adjusting is something that I seriously want to do, and I am willing to put in the work to get there. My question is: Is there a way to get started by processing Xactimate claims from my home...

I have read threw some of the post here, man you guys sure are hard on new guys WOW.. I'm sure it has something to do with having to work behind and clean up after some boob, who couldn't tie his own shoe but managed to get an adjuster lic during a horrific storm. But not all of us are like that. I have a very very very strong back ground, in client relations, negotiations, problem solving, time management, and most areas of construction, leaning heavy to res construction. I am extremely detail...

New to adjusting, but not to insurance 3566 6

I am seeking some adviced from senior adjusters. I have been in the insurance industry since 1992, pretty much right out of high school. I worked in non standard auto for three years, and learned the ropes. I then switched to a preferred carrier, and I have been here since 1995. I am on the 'front lines' as they say at an agents office. I am an associate agent, and basically run the office. I am a licensed general lines agent (both property and casualy, and life/health), and I am a licensed...

Experienced Insurance Restoration Expert trying to get into insurance industry 4219 1

Hello
My name is Gabriel I have been doing Insurance restoration for 2 years. As a General Contractor I have met over150 adjusters and homeowners on storm damage related properties. I have been using Xactimate for 2 years. I am used to finding damage that the adjuster missed the 1st time and if the adjuster didn't buy the roof well I would be the guy call to write up a quick estimate on the roof and call for another ad...

Hey guys
I've been trying to get in to the auto claims industry with a carrier for a while now with out much luck. I'm looking in the Nashville (middle TN) area. I know a lot of you guys came from a carrier background so I'm hoping you can give me the critique I need to be as appealing as possible. I have been applying online and since Nashville is a new area for me I don't have any contacts here at all. Here is a copy of my resume and cover letter. If you g...

Questions About Getting Started 8420 10

Hi, I am new to this website and have some questions about beginning a career in adjusting.&160;I understand that this is not an easy field to enter and that there are many stresses involved, but I would appreciate it if someone can give me some pointers.&160;I am sure I will probably get a few people who discourage me as that seems be a trend in some of the forums…and that’s ok.
Currently, I own a roofing company (I know, another roofer trying to get into adjusting…probably becoming a cliché...

My name is Justin, I am currently trying to get into the field of adjusting. I have been a foreman in construction for the last 5 years. I love being out in the field. Due to the economy I have had to switch jobs. I now sell cars, even though it is not the best time for that. I work in Mobile, Alabama. In the time I have sold cars, I have met many adjusters. Considering Pilot has a Mobile, Alabama office. I am trying to slowly work towards becoming an adjuster on the side. I dont plan on being a...

Interested in becoming a catastrophe adjuster 4308 10
Started by Charlie D
I'm an experienced (15years) local, independent property adjuster. I'm interested in making the switch to catastrophe adjuster, and would prefer to work for a large insurance company, rather than being independent. I think so, anyway.
I have no idea how to get started, or who to apply with, and I'm just looking for some general suggestions. Thanks to anybody that can help!

Hi, I live in Southern Calif. and have been a general contractor for 28 yrs and in construction for 35. I worked with an adjuster in 2003 after a firestorm wiped out a clients home. &160;If I could get some answers to some questions I have I would greatly appreciate it.
