Flood and elevators 3270 0

Our elevator room ( at floor level) in our condo is 9 above flood level. Our elevator room electronics is another 4 foot up from the floor.
If a flood exceeds 9 ft and and reaches and damages the controll panels in the elevator room, is it covered. No issue with the elevator pit as elevator is on a hydrolic lift system. Condo is located in Florida. Any RCBAP adjusters available to answer question Greatly appreciated.

Need some advice here..... I have enjoyed adjusting for 15 years and plan to keep doing it but want to retire my Cougar Paws and stay off steep roofs. I have paid my dues climbing all kinds of roofs from wood shakes to clay tile but am looking for the best fit for my skill set that does not involve climbing roofs.
Traveling is not a problem and in the beginning both my wife and I had adjuster license and we used our RV to go from CAT to CAT. It seems to me that Flood, Fire or Tota...

I've heard there's a 'number of years waiver' for former military personnel. The number of years is 4 consecutive, I've heard the military waiver makes it 1 year. Does anyone know if this is true.

At my last NFIP certification class the instructor mentioned something about floods that are related to fires, he flashed something on the screen, maybe it was a new rule or guideline and he seemed to say something to the effect that nobody knows or ever heard of such a thing so let's go to the next slide.
I have attached a photo taken in Glendora Ca after the recent wildfires. Anybody guess what the government workers are doing in the photo And how it might relate to flooding

Can the vapor barrier on a structure be damaged by flood water&160; The wall in question is constructed in the following manner, from the outside in:
&160;
1.&160; Flat seam metal panels (copper)
2. Building paper
3.&160; 2 1/2 inch insulating board mechanically fastened to concrete masonry
4. 10 mil. poly vapor barrier
5. 8' concrete block

The argument put forth is everything to the concrete block needs to be replaced because of contact with flood water.&160;&160;

I called some local State Farm Agents and people working the calls stated 'we are are still involved in the process; but we refer our customers with flood policies that need to be renewed in WYO to NFIP direct'.
Could it be the reinspections result in charge backs on 800,000 potential flood losses would not pass muster....hmm...

NADO, ATEC (Adjuster Training and Education Centers) is advertising a certification requirement class for National Flood Services* this year. (www.atecgroup.org) along with some other carriers.&160; I've contacted vendors working claims regularly for NFS and they were not aware of any such requirement from NFS.&160; So, 'Know Before You Go' if you plan on spending the $125 for this.&160; It may simply be NADO's in-house requirement for these entities&160;but the advertising doesn't say that....

Well guys and gals, I don't know if you have heard. The nationwide flood contract was acquired by NFS and Nationwide is expecting all flood claims to be written in Xactimate 25. I took on some and I can say is; I once had hair and&160;I guess this will save me on haircuts. I have been certified to write with it, but as most of the adjusters raised on Simsol, I did the best to avoid the program. It takes 3 times as long to write a file. Does anyone have a copy of the current (2008) NFIP Fee Schedule The claims manual on the NFIP website has the 1997 fee schedule, and the link for the revised fee schedule is dated 2004. I know it was updated in 2008 and used for Hurricane Ike in Texas. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to learn how to handle flood claims, though flood certified I never had one of those :) Hail and wind kept me busy for a while. You, who saw it all, grey haired wizards of adjusting, show me the path...&160; Write your own companies, who do they contact when they become overwhelmed with claims Do they try to hire local IAs or do they have like a prefered IAs list&160; Anybody with extensive flood experience help me, I beg you.... :)
