Wanted to let everyone know about ARISE, a new association / professional informational sharing group forming that all Property Claims Adjusters should be a part of. Our job success depends on the quality of our work product. Almost all storm claims involves risk, few of which are as great as the task of roof inspection. Our employers tell us that we should not climb any roof that we are not comfortable with but we all know that we cannot get paid for the claims we do not comp...

We are talking about independant contract adjusters for short term weather related catastrophe work. This is the year that many of the under funded vendors who do not have the ability to pay twice a month will have to merge, close, disband. Probably about 30 to 40 of all the vendors any of you have heard the name off can make payroll as agreed and will get the best adjusters .IF the weather dictates.
Ask for the contract NOW and see what you have to fight about, because its always a f...

If you are on a storm and you have to leave that weekend for duty, would that be the end of working for that company. If you are an independent adjuster, does the company you work for have to abide by the government rules that allow you to go to duty without worry of being fired

Note: This is a transfer from the Bulletin Board.
Hi! My name is Andrea Davis, I am an independent adjuster for the State of Texas, the Hill Country of Texas recently received a hail storm and my personal home was affected by the storm. After repeated unanswered calls to the insurance company and being hung up on and cursed by the adjuster assigned to my loss, I chose to file a complaint with TDI against the adjuste...

Confidentiality and Copyright 3350 16
Started by ChuckDeaton
I really don't know how to phrase this question, so here's the story. I put a confidentiality disclaimer and a blurb about copyright on the bottom of my emails. The recipient sends me a response and copies three others, this violates the confidentiality that I requested and may violate the copyright, if any.
I am interested in the communities thoughts on the matter.

Hi There...
Just had a few quick questions. I've been looking at getting the TX license to become an adjuster. I've been in the mortgage business for the last 10 years as an owner and as we all know that industry is not doing well. Anyways, I have great experience obviously with numbers and have some experience with construction.
When looking into taking the classes I've heard from some schools that certain companies won't hire you if you went ...

Totaling a loss 7385 28

I find this board to be very informative, and I thought I would post a question that has been on my mind about severe losses. My experience to date has been limited to smaller cat claims ($40-$50K max). When I look at some of the pictures of large damage, I do not know when one specifically considers a claim to be a total loss. Any guidelines would be appreciated. The more detailed the better.
For example, if a tornado destroys half of a house, bu...

I heard that several states were hit hard. Just curious if the damage is extremely widespread, or confined. Do any of you think it will be 'one of those events' to look forward to getting a call and being deployed a while. Probably lots of hail damage to i would assume.
