Teachings from a \Seasoned\ Cat (Flood) Adjuster 12508 4
Started by johnpostava
By John A. Postava
In 2004 (hard-to-believe it was over 7 years ago!), hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne brought more claim adjusters to Florida than swampland speculators in the 1920s. In retrospect, the “Fearsome Foursome” generated more than two million property claims. Just the sheer number of claims alone required adjusters to increase productivity to meet the demands of homeowners.
No matter where claims occur, filing them quickly, accurately, and efficiently is t...

Ray, how do you really feel ? 5408 13
Started by Ray Hall
On the topic of new people, this is how I really feel. If you have a bachelors degree go to work for a insurance carrier. And, not in claims, underwriting. If you have never been happy doing what you have been doing since you got out of high school and want to get into cat. adjusting, some get lucky, but that 10 is only about 10 (I think). I really think a job you like or can put up with thats in the 5 k per month range with some perks is better than a gross of 150K on the road 6-9 moths ...

Getting Xactimate Level 1 certified 15420 2
Started by Crunchyhippo
I&39;m a new adjuster and figured that, in addition to my claims license, getting a Xactimate Level 1 certification would show someone looking for a field claims adjuster that I have a decent grasp of the program instead of just hoping I know it, or giving me a limited crash course before sending me out. I&39;ve head the test isn&39;t particularly difficult, so would it be possible to learn what I need to about it on, say, Youtube or online vs. paying $300 for an online class before taking th...

What sate license has the most reciprocity for someone who wants to be licensed in more than one state. Just starting down this road, so any pointers appreciated. Also, any rcomendations on courses I feel like I have a lot of actual experience in the field and will not have a problem passing, but its good to get some advice.

A question about license training 2808 0
Started by NReddy
Hi, after reading through the forum it seems that the consensus is to try staff adjusting first before jumping into cat adjusting. I'm at the very beginning of the process. I've been selling roofs since Katrina and would like to do something different. I'm going for my adjuster's license in Kentucky. Does anyone have experience with Agent Broker Training Center It's an online course for $149. Is there a better option Or will any training that succeeds in preparing me for the license tes...

Hello everyone! This is my first post here on the CatAdjuster Forums.
I have experience in the field, but just recently took my State Farm Certification exams with Worley and want to help alleviate concerns that I am sure new adjusters have when trying to get their certification.
***Disclaimer: I am not an employee of Worley, nor will I be sharing specific exam questions. The purpose of this post is to help new adjusters who are nervous about getting their certification. I also have no...

Trent Massey's - "Catastrophe Adjusting" E-book $35.00
Adjuster Cindy - "Cat Adjuster Power Manual" $169.00

The following was a question received via email from a visitor to the site.
Hi. I've checked out this website several times b/c I've been highly interested in taking whatever necessary courses to obtain my C.A.T. lic. . I've worked in insurance & financial srv.s since 2003 for companies such as State Farm and Allstate (worked for them quit a while). Regardless, I get too bored sitting in an office. I love being in insurance however I need to be able to have that challenge , have the...

Choose Your Rope & Harness Training Provider Wisely 11877 1

Ask the CEO of any Major Insurance Carrier or IA provider company and you will learn that crippling injuries and fatality falls from modern roof structures are a common and credible threat to Property Claims Adjusters. In proof of this fact many Insurance Carriers have outsourced their high risk roof claims to Ladder Assist type organizations and at least a dozen or more “Rope and Harness” training vendors have sprung up to capitalize on the situation over the last five years.

Also, if you are just waiting on the big storm and you get most of your experience on the job, I am wondering how good these training classes are, or if they are just another way for the companies to make money. I k...

State Farm Certification Class though Pilot 39125 12
Started by racerdown
I finally took the State Farm Certification class after years of putting it off. I was getting plenty of work without it and did not see a need to take it. There are several options out there to take it. I found places to take it at no cost and always knew that Pilot gave it for $150. I just took the class with Pilot. The first day was Pilot going over the items that are on the test. It was about 7 hours. The second day was a Live Broadcast from ...
