28 Replies and 25977 Views HAIL: The difference b/t a Hail Hit and a HAAG Hit...  25977  28 Started by  Jud G.
(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
I sat through a vendor training seminar a few months back and walked away stunned at what I heard.  During the seminar, we were told that a hail hit on a composition roof had to penetrate the asphalt backing.  Close-up photos need to show a hole on the back side of a lifted shingle to confirm and justify the hits within a test square. Conditions not Qualifiying Hail Damage:1)  bruises where the black tar was now visible due to the removal of the granular ballast (go...

16 Replies and 3970 Views Tryin to reason with hurricane season  3970  16 Started by  margar1 Well here it is another hurricane season fast approaching....   The age old question is at hand...do I chase the money or stay commited to the vendors that are slowly building up my daily claim volume. I have already turned down some midwest hail events out of loyalty but if and when the first major cane hits what shall I do.It seems as though with the updated hurricane outlook for this year we may not even get a major cane.   decisions...decisions....hmmmm

1 Replies and 4634 Views IA Firms and thier non-compete non solicitation clauses  4634  1 Started by  Marcus My search didn't turn up what I was looking for so here goes... I am sure many of you all work through a 'Firm' for daily claims in your area and some of you work directly for the carrier (as the 'IA firm'.  I am in the process of getting hooked up with a few firms to keep me busy in the area so (hopefully)I won't need to pray for a hurricane or big hail storm every year.  I know there are some pros and cons about daily claims and I have read some great discussions from...

2 Replies and 3334 Views Days gone By  3334  2 Started by  CatAdjusterX Hi guys, So for starters, I am only looking for responses from experienced adjusters who have been in the game a miminum of 5 years (not just licensed for five years but have five years of work experience.) Normally I would have posted this 'query' (take that CatDawg!! LOL) in the Adjuster's Den. However, whilst I only want answers from experienced hands, I want our newly licensed brethren to have access to the answers provided. Hence why I am posting in this forum. For the experienced: ...

5 Replies and 2873 Views A Legal Question  2873  5 Started by  mcgrawreed I would like to pose this question for the attorneys in this group.I understand that a plaintiff’s attorney can request an adjuster’s computer under discovery and I’ve heard various war stories about how this happens and the embarrassing results for the adjuster. But there are several aspects of this that I don’t understand. -      What, in your opinion, is the most common situation or scenario that would cause this -    &nb...

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 3 4 )
Insurance policy contains endorsement that provides $5,000 additional coverage for backup or overflow from system designed to remove seepage from foundation. There was seepage from foundation resulting in 18 inches of water standing in basement for 21 days. The basement had a floor drain that was designed to remove unwanted water from basement. 5 Replies and 4217 Views cyberwarfare, computer virus as proximate cause...  4217  5 Started by  Leland   There's a lot of stories in the news about a computer virus that is attacking another countries nuclear facility. There is some evidence that the virus caused various motors to malfunction and may have caused some sort of small disaster in the plant. The virus has spread to many other countries.   This reminds me of the doomsday scenarios predicted for Y2K (The idea that computers all over the world breakdown on Jan1, 2000 because the software was written for only two digits repre...

Parr Inspections mobilizes too many inspectors and leave most of them with too little work to even cover their lodging and travel expenses.
