TN Permits and working under NAFTA 2461 0
Started by stormcrow
Starting to hear stories, Canadian Nurses refused TN permit.
This is certainly a concern for Canuk adjusters wanting to work south of the border in the USA. Will they be refused entry, the agents certainly have the power to refuse anyone. And if movement southward is blocked, will Canada block US adjusters
In the last couple if years many US adjusters have worked in the great white north. Most under a TN permit.
Something to watch and would love to hear from any Canuks who cross or t...

Identify this 3845 9
Started by suzukini
Not claim related, but we are having the hardest time trying to figure out what the heck these metal clip-like pieces are for. Anyone have a clue They are spaced out randomly on the tile benches and raised walls outside a building here in Florida. The clips do not move, are bolted from the top but also do not attach along the edge like it would seem.

After days of watching still do not know what this is or if it will Hermine or Ian (see 08l).
finaly a TD and likely to be named soon, but so is the storm of the coast of NC. All we know is it is likely to make landfall somewhere between Galvaston and Tampa Bay some where between scattered remains and a major.
Anyways do not give up your day job at 7/11

Vinyl siding repair 2895 0
Started by stormcrow
I am seeing more companies repairing hail hits on vinyl siding. I understand that they patch in a matching or similar pattern and then computer match the colour and paint the patch.
I am curious on the long term, Will the patched hole stay in place and will the matched paint fade at the different rate the original siding. Five or ten years from now will the insured be left with a poka dot pattern on the side where the repairs where done.

First, I admit here that I'm not an insurance adjuster. So I'm hoping you are still willing to help me with information. Can anyone confirm if any state law restricts an insurance claims adjuster from 'moonlighting' with other non-insurance professions that interact with homeowners (ex. code of ethics or profession standards of practice violations) Also is there a central online resource that provides detailed information for accessing individual state statutory regulations specifically for ins...

Looking for File Review Opportunities 4638 1
Started by kcalderon87
Hello All,
I have been an auto claims desk adjuster for the past year. I am in a situation at home where I may need to work from home doing something similar. Are there currently firms looking for at home/remote file reviewers Does anyone have a rough idea of how much they pay I have looked everywhere and have not had any luck for remote positions. All are temporary or require relocation. Working in the field for daily claims isn't really an option for my situation either.
Any info y...

What is an Adjuster good for Anymore? 4596 3
Started by hollenmail
I know this is long, but please read, at the end there is a twist and I hope that my experience will help you or someone else. Thank you for reading. Adjusters should be owed the right to share their experience's with 3rd party companies & carriers alike because we are the heart of the claims process. The worse the economy gets, the harder it becomes to be an adjuster and/or manage a 3rd party claims handling firm. As the adjusters fees go down, the demands go up. The carriers are hiring mor...

Adjuster’s Life—don’t do it for the money
It’s not for everybody
That’s true
Staying up late
Getting up early
One eye on the weather channel
One hand on the suitcase handle
Always ready to go
Cuz you never know
When or
Where
Or for how long
You just know, you gotta go
Like a cowboys call to a rodeo
Or a Fireman’s call to smoke
You don’t do it for the money…
Well, some do.
But a real adjuster knows
It’s really more t...

Cat Adjusters Making The Leap to Ladder Assist 9387 0
Started by Catsvstrained
“Ladder Assist” is the official job title at present yet this workforce of over twenty thousand now would be much better characterized as “Roofing Consultants” based on the expectations of the client companies they serve. That said, I wouldn’t want anyone to get the idea that all Ladder Assist workers are worthy of the title of “Roofing Consultant” however, for all you seasoned Cat Adjusters out there, your skillset makes for a very nice fit provid...

Property Adjusters Losing Out To Ladder Assist 19874 4

If you happen to be among the group of people who believe that Ladder Assist is not gaining ground within the Insurance Claims Industry then it is time to take a closer look.
Ladder Assist Companies earned in excess of an estimated $350 million in 2014 by gobbling up roof claims assignments that would otherwise be found in the inventories of Property Claims Adjusters.
Ten years ago we had only one official Ladder Assist company and that was run by Pilot for Allstate Ins. but today we ha...

Do you find the contents part of claims as a primary area where fraud is suspected If financial forensics and analytics were applied to validate contents claims, would that add value when you adjust claims that appear inflated and fraudulent

Just a heads up for any and all working claims in IA with out of state plates. I had a good run of five months here this year and have been pulled over twice by the Motor Vehicle Enforcement division of the State Troopers.
