This one looks interesting on the early model runs. Out to sea, possible but NE coast is also possible. Stay tuned.

Slightly elevated heart rate, trouble sleeping, checking the puter every 30 minutes and a feeling of breathlessness just before the NHC updates arrive, yup your a cat adjuster. This may make the turn into the coast before its done, and a real hurricane in the western Altlantic. Time to check the gear change the oil just in case. Emails will start today and by tomorrow if Joaquin follows the models the phones should start ringing. Real deal or anther big tease? Stay tuned.

Joaquin is turning into a beast, raging into a cat 3 and likely a four. Still big question on where he ends up. Only one major model does not slam him into the east coast.

Cat 4 tease. Hammering the islands and then maybe Nova Scotia, models mostly suggest not cane for CONUS. Could be flooding along coast and inland from more heavy rain.

As I sit here watching another hurricane season dift off shore, I have to wonder about the state of Cat Adjusting. I know the numbers are likley still there (lots of warm bodies) but is there still the experience to handle a major cane? We have seen some US adjusters up here in the Great White North this year, and the book knowledge was there (sort of) but you could tell they did not have the field time. Eventually there will be a major landfall and hopefully it will be handled better then Katrina which was a complete mess from the Feds on down. Time will tell.
