You will certainly  make more money in oil speculation than claims work. Why wait till your grown up, jump in the fire.

Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.

A man's got to believe in something...........................

I believe I'll have another drink.

It doesn't matter how strong your opinions are.  If you don't use your power for positive change, you are, indeed, part of the problem.

If you drink, excessively, like WC Fields, you have a problem.

Larry, maybe you and me came from of a different mold, but what's really funny or what we think is funny doesn't always click with everybody huh???   It ain't always in the delivery, generally on the reception I guess.

Larry, I know that was a joke, but it was a good time to bring up the hazards of alcohol. I have lost too many good friends to it and seen many good careers destroyed by it. I have never used alcolhol with parents who very seldom drank. My father had a beer every once in a while and my mother never drank. I get almost fanatical when it comes to alcohol consumption and the problems it creates when done excessivly. Sorry if it appeared that I did not appreciate your humor. I appreciate all humor. I do have a beer once in a while. Last year I drank 5 beers, none so far this year.

In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins - not through strength but by perseverance.

I learned many years ago that the only way you are going to get anywhere in life is to work hard at it. Whether you're a musician, a writer, an athlete, an adjuster, or a businessman, there is no getting around it. If you do, you'll win. If you don't you won't. This country was built by hard working people who had very few luxuries as we do. If they can do it, so can we.

If you are going to let the fear of poverty govern your life, then your reward will be that you will eat, but you will not live.

An enterprising person is one who comes across a pile of scrap metal and sees the making of a wonderful sculpture. An enterprising person is one who drives through an old decrepit part of town and sees a new housing development. An enterprising person is one who sees opportunity in all areas of life.

To be enterprising is to keep your eyes open and your mind active. It's to be skilled enough, confident enough, creative enough and disciplined enough to seize opportunities that present themselves... regardless of the economy.

A person with an enterprising attitude says, "Find out what you can before action is taken." Do your homework. Do the research. Be prepared. Be resourceful. Do all you can in preparation of what's to come. Insurance adjusting work requires study to gain proper knowledge. You can never know enough in this industry, this forever changing industry.

Enterprising people always see the future in the present. Enterprising people always find a way to take advantage of a situation, not be burdened by it. And enterprising people aren't lazy. They don't wait for opportunities to come to them, they go after the opportunities. Enterprise means always finding a way to keep yourself actively working toward your ambition. The internet provides knowledge of our industry. Go to meetings, seminars, workshops, anything to help you gain knowledge to become a top notch adjuster.

Enterprise is two things. The first is creativity. You need creativity to see what's out there and to shape it to your advantage. You need creativity to look at the world a little differently. You need creativity to take a different approach, to be different. So your different, but your working when others sit home wondering why they were not called on a storm.

What goes hand-in-hand with the creativity of enterprise is the second requirement: the courage to be creative. You need courage to see things differently, courage to go against the crowd, courage to take a different approach, courage to stand alone if you have to, courage to choose activity over inactivity. But then understand that sometimes a group must come together to survive in this profession. United we stand, divided we fall. Always reach out to an adjuster who needs help, and your reward will come forth.

And lastly, being enterprising doesn't just relate to the ability to make money. Being enterprising also means feeling good enough about yourself, having enough self worth to want to seek advantages and opportunities that will make a difference in your future. And by doing so you will increase your confidence, your courage, your creativity and your self-worth, your enterprising nature.

If you don't set a baseline standard for what you'll accept in life, you'll find it's easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that's far below what you deserve.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths.

When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.

That is known as perseverance and with that comes success.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

And also how many of them cows you chased back thru the fence before puttin your own brand on 'em, and how many times you fixed that common fence you share with your neighbor.  Sometimes fences can be fixed too many times on your part only, and it comes time those cows find another home.
