Self-discipline is when your conscience tells you to do someting and you don't talk back.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

The impossible is actually possible. It just takes longer.

As simple as it sounds, we all must try to be the best person we can;
by making the best choices;
by making the most of the talents we've been given.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Larry, just got word from your dog. He knows who you are and feels he has you trained as much as he can get you trained. He has, however, requested you give him a few more treats everyday.

One of the best ways to persuade others is with your ears--by listening to them.
We just worked a local claim today on a grocery store in Earl, AR. The insured had another claim under a different insurance company and when we got ready to leave after discussing scope, etc., he asked me why other adjusters did not want to listen to the insured. I did not have an answer. He thanked us for doing the job right, discussing the scope and answering his questions. I could tell he was very sincere about thanking us for the way we listened to him and answered his questions. We were there a total of 47 minutes, scoping the grocery building and getting his spoiled foods list. 47 minutes out of our lives is nothing, but it did help an insured understand his coverages, damages, and what to expect. We found damage his contractor failed to see and his contractor was there at the time of inspection. Don't get me wrong, as I am not patting ourselves on the back, just trying to impress upon all of you that your visibility to an insured is important to them, the insurance company, and yourself. You learn by listening.
That insured said the other independent adjuster was at his home a totat of 10 minutes, only said and few words, and left. The insured told us he would be changing insurance companies, as he felt he was not getting respect he should have gotten. Guess what, he is absolutely correct. These folks have contracts of adhesion and are owed respect for paying a premium for a contract of insurance. Take the time to talk, and certainly, take the time to listen. I cannot stress this enough.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

There are two primary choices in life;
to accept conditions as they exist,
or accept the responsibility for changing them.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

You are the only problem you will ever have and you are the only solution. Others, will sometimes try to create problems for you, but only you can allow that to happen. Again, you are the only solution and do not have to allow others to affect you.

Accept responsibility for your life.
Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go,
no one else.

Money is one of the most important subjects of your entire life. Some of life's greatest enjoyments and most of life's greatest disappointments stem from your decisions about money. Whether you experience great peace of mind or constant anxiety will depend on getting your finances under control. Open a savings account and save some of that huge sum of money we are supposed to make, for a rainy day, ie, no work.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

If I wanted to become a tramp, I would seek information and advice from the most successful tramp I could find. If I wanted to become a failure, I would seek advice from people who have never succeeded. If I wanted to succeed in all things, I would look around me for those who are succeeding, and do as they have done.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Tom,
Back in the Katrina days, I did fairly well and actually put back enough to get me a couple of them CD's.
I got "Soul Train Platinum" and "Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Acropolis"

I bought the whole set of "Soft Rock 70's" off that late nite infomercial in the summer of '06 while I still had $129.99 to spare. I think I might have ordered it during the middle of the night while I was looking around out here on this site to see if anyone else was really posting anymore.

The world is a great mirror. It reflects back to you what you are. If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove loving and friendly and helpful to you. The world is what you are.
