I realize that most of you are already aware of the potential effects of the upcoming La Nina (if it occurs).  Yet, since no one's posted about it, here's some generic information from the AP: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17378414/print/1/displaymode/1098/.

Keep in mind, 2006 was predicted to be a hectic season full of landfalling hurricanes, but the scientists never predicted El Nino to push them all out to sea (nor to make landfall).  Use this time to get prepared.

I realize this is resurrecting an old thread, but I just read this article, and talk about wow missing the boat.  Now I know we had a lot of activity in the Caribbean and Atlantic that did not make landfall (the article predicted it would), but another thing they predicted was extreme drought for West Texas, which has been anything but true.

West Texas has had fantastic amounts of rain, dry land crops (for those of you who don't know that means non-irrigated) have been record setting.  And in the past El Nino has meant a greater drought situation for us here in West Texas.

I refer back to my post on the "Paper Pushing File reviewers" thread.
