Anyone heard of Step Down Coverage, Auto

by ronone10 on 03/07/2007 6:53 PM

Hello,  I recently was asked if I knew of a coverage called Step Down for personal lines auto.   From what I understand, it is an optional coverage which gives the insured a different set of liabilty limits for a permissive operator.

In otherwords, if you currently have 100/300/50 AA/BB limits and you buy the Step Down coverage, you can select 25/50/10 limts to cover a friend that happens to borrow your car for the day.

Pretty innovative coverage and I was wondering if you know of a company that offers this?

Thanks...
