With new and expensive conferences being schuduled into this new year, they become difficult to attend due to the expenses when there has been no work to speak of to be able to afford the conference fees, hotel, transportation and lodging. It will be obvious that attendance will be down this year. If we are unable to attend a conference than we, as adjusters, pay the price for not showing an interest in a particular CAT company. It's not that we aren't interested especially with the much needed CE credits at stake, however providing a living for are families is utmost important--first.

I get invited to several conferences every year. In the last 5 years I have attended 1 conference. There were so many people there my attendance went unnoticed. I also spoke with several attendees that had never been deployed but were hoping get noticed, the next year, there was little to no work for anyone. I'm not suggesting people not go, there is some valuable information to be had at these conferences. If you feel you need to attend, I would find one close, with a firm you would like. CEs are always needed, networking is always a good idea. Go to every conference with every firm, and you will work 1/2 a year just to pay for the expenses to attend.
