We fail to see that we can control our own destiny; make ourselves do whatever is possible; make ourselves become whatever we long to be. Don't allow anyone to stagnate your mind with negative commentary. Only you can determine your strategy for your destiny.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Don't spend your precious time asking
'Why isn't the world a better place?'
It will only be time wasted.
The question to ask is 'How can I make it better?'
To that there is an answer.

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so
much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million
less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down.

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an
illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve
a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him
on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he
defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal
patriot.

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution
for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for
themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the
canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.

Our life always expresses the result of our dominant thoughts.

Tom perhaps this is was how the Americans felt a few hundred years ago our families showed up as unwanted aliens and destroyed their way off life they had come to enjoy. The Americans that learned English and blended left some of their gene pool. Maybe it is time we all learn Spanish and blend if we want to protect any of our gene pool. If we try to fight illegal immigration we are sure to wind up on a reservation in time. The earlier Americans initially had better survival skills than the illegal aliens but the number of the illegal aliens over centuries swapped the American way of life. Paradigm shifts occur from time to time.

Tom Late in the Korean War, in 1953, a man I knew was at the US Army recruiting station taking a mental test to help determine his draft status. He was a college student at the time. 2 Amigos were trying to take the test, but could not read English. They kept asking the Recruiting Sgt what this word meant? etc. The Sgt replied IF you want to be a US citizen answer the questions. Jimmy said they finished the test and the Sgt graded them and said, "Congratulations, You all passed!"

Charles, in 1973 I joined the Navy to see the world (as the ad stated) and was surprised to learn how many non US citizens joins the military in order to fast track US citizenship.

I see nothing wrong with that. I am willing to shed my blood with anyone who sees My country as a place they are willing to die to protect. After I am there to protect their (and My) heirs.

It would be great if everyone in our country were willing to willing to die to protect our country. It would give us all a common thread we could relate to in time of trouble.

Take a moment right now, where are you? I know you have the desire and determination to write down and create a game plan to turn your dreams into reality. What is at play now is the persistence and perseverance to achieve your dreams.

Remember the single most critical difference between people who achieve their dreams and people who do not is their level of persistence and perseverance. Those who achieve their dreams continue to work toward them no matter what. In spite of the most daunting obstacles, all the negative people who tell them it can't be done, and numerous "failures" or false starts, the people who succeed in achieving their dreams keep on going and going and going--just like that Energizer bunny. They refuse to quit no matter what.

So whatever roadblocks you think are in your way, just remember that persistence is the great equalizer and a "must have" for all of those reaching for success. It overcomes lack of education, money, talent, intelligence, looks and all other seeming advantages.

"The person of good and lawful purpose cannot fail. It only need that he daily renew the fire and energy of his fixed resolve, to consummate his object."

You are what you believe.  BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

Tom, I have been a member of CADO for 2 1/2 years and have visited this site for a few years prior than that. I support the cause, if you will, of the catastrophe adjuster as this is the choice I have madi in life. I have always enjoyed your comments and posts and pretty much agree with you and your wisdom and support of fellow adjusters. I do tak exception to your comment of sending the illegal immigrants back because at one tome or another most of our families came to this country without an invitation. I am not a native indian as my family originated from Ireland, but I do know that without the so called illegal labor we have in this country we would not have the lifestyles we currently are living. I am happily married to my wife of 21 years with my three children ages 20, 13 and 3. I also frequently visit Mexico and realize the lifestyle most of the people of that country are living. When most people go to Mexico they are on vacation and usually visit resort towns or the larger cities and think, gee this isn't so bad. I even have friends that have purchased land down there because of the relative cheap prices and enjoy retirement on an income that they could not survive on in this country. This country has been built on the labor and sweat of our fore fathers as well as our friends south of the border. We allow for work visas for the immigrants to work in the fields so we can have pretty fair prices on our vegetation. We have businesses that use the immigrants to build the roads that we drive on and the houses that we live in. We use them to mow our yards and clean our pools, (which I do not have) and then we want to send them all back. I am married to a Mexican lady and my children are a mix of Irish, Mexican and Lebanese and I want them to understand and be proud of their heritage without prejudice towards any other race, culture or nationality. I am proud to be an American and support our country and our President, but let's remember one thing. There was not one Mexican, or any other person from Latin America that was on the planes that attacked our country on 9/11. In fact, Mexico has always been a friend of The United States and has not waiverd like our friend from Canada have from time to time. Everyone talks of building fences and shipping them to Iraq, but when we need someone to help us build that room addition or put on a new roof, who do we look to help us. Let's be honest with ourselves, we have all benefited from the support of the documented as well as undocumented workers from south of the border. I hope we can let this issue rest and just continue to keep this site as one that is here to support the catastrophe adjuster. I will continue to read the advice you always give and have much respect for you and what you have endured over the years. May you and Janice have a blessed Easter and stay in good health.

Your friend,
James Barlow

James, I have never been discriminatory. I supported blacks back in the days, that if you did, you were tagged a N***** lover. I support anyone who legally wishes to become a  United States Citizen. I am deeply concerned that we allow illegals from many countries to enter this country, not just the Mexican. I believe in the law of the land our ancestors created. The government of this land, for many years, has allowed the law to be broken. I have a number of Spanish friends, who legally entered into this country, as well as black, yellow and white friends, went to the appropriate classes, learned of our constitution, our language, our creed, and supported our flag and what it stands for.

I don't like disharmony, nor do I like threats from nationalities that are here illegally and intentionally display their countries flag in open demonstrations. If they want to become citizens of the United States, there is a proper way of doing it, not illegally. My ancestors came here legally from England with Irish blood in them. My Great Grandfather married a Native American Cherokee lady, so I have one hell of a blood mix and am proud of it, but all was done legally. Yes, I agree, many nationalities have help construct the U.S.A, and many more will, hopefully, but the majority of these people accepted our flag, constitution, and our way of life.

I too have been to Mexico in areas where there are desperate Mexican citizens, trying to just survive. I believe that is a Mexican government problem, not a United States problem. I have also been to other countries that have the same problem, but we cannot allow all who wish to come here illegally to come here, there is just not enough room, nor jobs. The United States just cannot take care of all those nations that are desperate. We have attempted to do so and failed miserably. It is just not possible. I fault our system for taking advantage of Mexicans, just as we took advantage over the Native American when we invaded and took over their country. How do we look upon Native Americans. They seem to be a bother to us with their foolish demands of fairness to their tribes, not accounting for the fact that we stole this land from them, raped their women, pillaged, murdered, and ravaged their society. This is a shame we should all bear, but we don't and we never will, unfortunately.

This is how I feel and will always feel. Let the countries that created the despair, create their own solution and remedy, thats how we as U.S. citizens have done it, almost. We can't even take care of our own, much less illegal immigrants. I will not apologize for the feelings I have about this, nor will I. We cannot solve all the problems of the world, when we cannot even take care of our own homeless and our own children doing without clothes and food.

U.S. Can't Account for 600,000 Fugitives

WASHINGTON -- Teams assigned to make sure foreigners ordered out of the United States actually leave are grappling with a backlog of more than 600,000 cases and can't accurately account for the fugitives' whereabouts, the government reported Monday.

When I've heard all I need to make a decision, I don't take a vote.
I make a decision. Having proper knowledge to make that decision is paramount to becoming a good adjuster. Knowledge is available everywhere, so don't squander it.

The reason so few people are successful is no one has yet found a way for someone to sit down and slide uphill.

After going through the 2006 non event season, i wish we had learned to slide, uphill.

Before you speak, listen.
Before you write, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you invest, investigate.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.
Before you retire, save.
Before you die, give.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
