I've tried going to the chat room and it just sits and says "loading"

Obviously, I'm not doing something right.

    Larry,

Maybe it knows no one wants to talk to you?
No one is absolutely worthless, at the very least you can serve as a bad example.

Larry, same thing happens to me if I try to go into the room while online with AOL, but if I go through my Internet Explorer (IE) I can go into the room.

Husker, having lived in Okla for about 8-9 years myself, I'd say you have no life in college football either.....-but if it makes you feel any better I hate the Sooners and Barry S also. Go Pokes!!!! And I consider Osborne probably the 2nd best coach I've ever seen.

Steve B...I don't think you understand the love/hate relationship between the Sooners & Huskers.  Unfortunately, since the Big 12 took over the Big 8, we don't get to play each other every year anymore.  I remember well the late 70's & into the 80's with Sooner Magic, and seeing Barry Switzer crouching on the sideline with that s&*t=assed grin & pulling off the victory, and then a few years later the Huskers having their number.  Then O'l Barry headed off elsewhere, and we pummelled them.  It just wasn't fun anymore beating up on the Sooners with Barry gone.  But it's a whole new regime now, and could get pretty interesting for the next few years.  Stoops & our new coach Bo Pelini have been buddies since childhood, and T.O. is back in charge at NU.  Still, here I am, a poor boored soul in the heartland with nothing too look forward to other than CF season.

Yep, I imagine now that Thunder on the Loup is over and the dog days of summer are just a couple weeks from ending, it gets sort of tough to amuse oneself way out there on the prairie. You could always huddle around the woodburner and tell each other ghost stories like the one about the golden arm while the wind howls through the window cracks and the snow piles up outside.

But in the meantime, there may be a catfish or two to be caught before you start dreaming about football.

Straying off course kinda comes naturally, I s'pose, when there's a whole prairie full of lonesome heifers and just a couple of bulls sniffing around with nothing else to do.  This probably won't make a lot of sense to some, Steve, but neither will your reference to Thunder on the Loup, unless they've been visiting the other site.  And, by the way, it was magnificent...to borrow a phrase from Seinfeld.

Husker, I understand the relationship between the Huskers and Sooners all too well. Lets just say i moved to a place called Stillwater, OK in 1982 (Big 8 era) and lived there until early 1985, leaving behind about 25K at OSU. We then moved to a town called Norman OK and lived there until 1990, and my favorite colors all this time were orange and black. Never missed going to a home game for OSU during all that time and went to a few OU home games, but can honestly say I never cheered for OU (always for the other team, and I didn't care who it was). I was always a Husker fan, except when it came to them playing OSU (and you will see that the years I referenced were not good ones between NU/OSU)

I'm gonna keep my dog outa this fight.

I'm an "Oklahoma" fan.  I root for the Oklahoma team and when the Cowboys and the Sooners hook up,  I look forward to a really good game.  Sometimes, it is.

Y'all been watchin' the Olympics?  There's a couple of kids from Oklahoma that are kickin' butt.

Ain't no fighting here, just a little conversation during the continual lull.  The "fight" begins in about 3 weeks when CF season opens.  The only time I'll be fist pumping, hopefully, is when things up north here happen similar to Tiger making a 25 footer to win a major.

I was going to install the forum update however, I decided to wait until Gustav came in. Then I put it off again for Ike. But I may get a chance later this week to install the update.

BTW, we broke the 10,000 post mark today in the forums.
