I have tried to research this as much as possible, but am having a hard time finding the information that I need.

Where does one do an ITV with Xactimate? Or do I have to find someplace else to do one? If that is the case, where and what do you suggest?

    Thanks in advance,

    Robert

    ATTENTION ALL XACTIMATE 25 USERS.

If you upload 25.1 you will loose most of all your profiles and you will have to delete 25.1 and reinstall 25. before you can down load any new profiles. You will have to call xactimate to walk you through.

Ok what I have figured out is that there is a valuation project and an estimate project. If you do a Residental Valuation in Xactimate, you can "save-as" an estimate. Then it ADDS EVERYTHING to the estimate!!!!!!!

I just want to do a simple ITV!!!! Simsol was so easy compared to this crap!

    Any suggestions

Just do it. Create a new project and select "valuation" from the drop down, as you described. Then you just answer the questions, and you get your valuation. That's it. As for the frustration of having repair steps pasted from one to the other - simply enter the guys name and address and claim info. Stop there and save it. Then "save as" and choose estimate, or valuation. Do that before entering any repair steps. You can work on the estimate or valuation project as their own thing, and avoid double work of entering their claim set up info. Once you get used to this it is easy, but this is not easy software to learn. I have been using it since 1993 and am still learning it. Very powerful though.

Yeah.. that is an idea that never occurred to me. I'm just sooooo used to Simsol. Man that is easy.

I hate the thought of having 2 projects for each claim! That is rediculous. Or is there another trick that I'm missing...

    Robert,

I do an ITV on almost every claim I worked in Florida. Another quick way to save ITV instead of having two projects open is:

    1. Create ITV and then hit save as in PDF to desktop/ then delete ITV
    2. Upload to your  working estimate as a custom document/ click print/ hit custom documents/then hit add/click on ITV saved on desktop and then hit upload. ITV goes in to Company as custom document and you're thru!

I have been doing this for awhile! Clean simple and easy!
