Does anyone know if you can merge assignments with Xactimate. For example adjuster A gets assignemnt but is busy, call buddy adjuster B and ask if they can inspect the property. B scopes and scetches, prepairs esimate, emails data file to A. Can A merge the estimate with original assignment? I've done this with auto programs before, but cannot find a way with Xm8.

    Thanks

I do not know of way to automatically merge the files. But one way to transfer the line items from one estimate to another including the sketch is to use "copy and paste" and templates. For example on the assigned file (adjuster A) has a blank estimate, you can load the estimate from adjuster B and copy the grouping\tree which would include all line items and then go to blank estimate and paste them. With the sketch, adjuster B could create a template of each sketch and the data transfer them to adjuster A. Adjuster A then could load the sketch template into the blank estimate.  Another way would be for adjuster A to data transfer his blank estimate to adjuster B who would complete the work and data transfer the file back to Adjuster A who would load the estimate over writing the blank. Of course any work completed by adjuster A using this method would be over written.  Are you  wanting to merge more than an estimate?

Thanks Roy, Just looking to merge the estimate, sketch and photos. Trying to keep adjuster A from having to read B's mind on scope notes and photo labels. We would do this quite a bit on autos. The inside adjuster would call while I was out in the field, needing a rush inspection. I would start a claim with basic info and and do an estimate, When I recd the claim download, I could just merge the two.

I think your sugestions will get me what I need.

    Thanks

    Jim,

You can download the estimate by making an ESX file. After you have completed the estimate, make a folder on your screen, then go back to xm8 to the file menu. Select the file you want to load to the folder. You do this by going to options and data transfer. Select data transfer. You will see a panel that gives you the options to send or receive. Select the send. Go to browse, select the folder to put it in and hit send. You can go to that folder and see that the ESX file is there. Then all you have to do is either burn it to a cd or send via e-mail. If you have a problem, call me at 810-360-5885 and I'll walk you thru it.
