We are here in New Orleans attending the RIMS conference. This is my first trip to the city since Katrina and I have to say from the airport to downtown things look normal for the most part. Businesses are closing much earlier I am told and the crowds are much smaller. This area did not flood so that made the looting the main damage to fix.

The risk management conference is huge. I was told the total number was about 9000 but there are 400 vendors alone in the tradeshow. Frontier Adjusters and Worley are the two large adjusting vendors but there are several contractors like BSM and Belfor and several claims management vendors and claims management software vendors. It is truly an international event with many countries represented.

LA is pumping in a lot of law enforcement in to this area of NO so it seems very safe
