I took and passed the exam for becoming an adjuster last year. I do not have any experience in the insurance industry however and I am finding it hard to even get into it. Any advice?

Are you being serious? Seems to me you lack any real initiative or motivation. But more than anything, you appear to be incredibly lazy. Do yourself and the industry as a whole a favor by staying out of the game

They must be bad for CAX to not offer to help them. I would give up now if I received this response from one of the most helpful adjusters on this forum.

Are you in a bad mood today, Robbie, or have you finally just answered this same question too many times?

Zombiedawg, like any business they don't just hand you the keys. Check out the previous threads here at CADO and the forum archives. This same question has probably been asked and answered a hundred times in the fourteen years since I started coming here to CADO.

If anyone has questions and they have at least attempted to find the answers themselves, I will help them until the cows come home.

It is my opinion that people like this guy/gal will be a crappy adjuster. They ask for the answers without any effort whatsoever. That the answer to their query can be found over and over by simply reading Roy's Getting started thread tells me they either:

     A) don't pay attention to detail   or  B) feel that the rules don't apply to them

These above traits are not a good fit for this industry. If they are looking for shortcuts here, they will look for shortcuts out in the field

It takes more than just a license- that is the bare minimum. Obtain all the certifications and licenses that you can. Show everyone that you're not just in it to make a quick buck. Take time to introduce yourself to people at the classes and certifications. Treat them like networking functions- you never know where your break will come from.

Making it in this industry takes work. Do your research and beat the pavement. If you're lucky, you'll be deployed during a storm. Best to be prepared when you go out, lest you get blackballed on your first storm.

There are many independent adjusting vendors who are always looking for new adjusters to hire!  Get on their rosters and become certified to work for whatever insurance carrier you want to work for.  For a list of "the big four" independent adjusting firms, visit http://catadjuster.org/LinkClick.as...mp;mid=520
