In Xactimate using the Sketch tool (not areal view) can be a real challenge. You can always pay a company to do it for a price, pay to download the images or you have this option. It has been very effective for me.

Using Xactimate 27.5 You can get the Xactimate 30 day demo free here. http://www.xactware.com/store/Selec...o?catId=83

First you want to max out your screen resolution that retains proper aspect ratios.  Computer monitors / HD TV's come mostly in 4:3 / 16:9 (widescreen) and other formats. Your screen resolution will make a difference on how to image is displayed for measurement. A couple high resolution examples for wide screen would be (16:9) 1360 x 768, 1440900 or 19201080. Standard higher resolutions for 4:3 (letterbox) would be 16001200 or 14001050.  For more information go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comput...#Standards

First Start Out with opening your browser to https://maps.google.com/

Ensure that Google maps GL is on!

Type in your address of the home you going to sketch the roof of in Xactimate. Zoom in to the furthest level and hit your print screen button. Open up paint and hit ctrl + v to place the image in there. The grab the select icon and select the entire actual map making sure to include the distance bar in the bottom left of the  map screen. We will use this later in Xactimate when we are measuring distance.

After it is cropped it should look something like this. Take notice of the arrows, the one in the top left you will be using for your other shots of the screen.....  Continued at the following link.. Tons a Xactimate tutorials and mods!
