It looks like a huge time-saver but I want real-world feedback before I run out and make the purchase and the upgrade to 27.5 Pro.

I purchased my iPad last November and tried it with first version of Xactscope, but was not very impressed.

However the new version of Xactscope is a huge improvement. I've only used it on one claim since upgrading, but it's going to be a timesaver.

Also I've found several apps that make the iPad worth the investment even wwithout Xactscope.

Yet Simsol has perfected their program to work with the motion tablet and the disto. The new program puts the measurments right into the program on the tablet and you can even do your estimate on the tablet as well as sending the prelim. and photo's right up to the carrier during flooding events. Simsol is less costly the exact and their customer support is free. Just my opinion.

It just seems to make sense. Measurements and pix right there onsite, upload. Download, polish sketch, add estimate items, add captions / annotations, proof it and send it in. IF it works.

Heck of an investment to make if it doesn't.

The upside of an ipad by itself is access to customer files, etc. on the side of the road without having to fire up a laptop (I don't have a desk in my truck). Squinting at my phone and trying to navigate on the small screen is just a hassle.

    Anybody else?

    Thank you,

First, I have a laptop, an android phone and an iPad. I use ACT by Sage for contact management.

DejaOffice and Companionlink - Syncs calendar and contacts on laptop, phone and iPad.

Docs To Go - Syncs documents between laptop and iPad.

Notes Plus - Handwriting recognition. Converts handwriting into typed docs and saves them as PDF.

ContactMap and/or Contacts GPS - Reads contacts and shows them on a map.

Hope this helps. If you have additional questions call me 205.799.0117.

I heavily use xactscope 27.5 on the iPad 3.
It works way better on the iPad 3 than on the iPad 2.
scetching takes longer on the ipad than in the old pen and paper days but it minimizes mistakes and saves you the time of later needing to enter all the line ite,s.
Entering line items is a waste of time on thenipad because it takes between 10 and 20 seconds till an item comes up after you type.

This is NOT the classifieds friend and this post is inappropriate . The thread is about XactScope and iPad and NOT about plugging a training course.

Hey ya'll, I'm a newbie to this website, but not a newbie to Xactimate. However, I am trying to increase efficiency with the reports I do on a day to day basis, and I've never figured out how to get a document of just my sketch, with all of the measurements showing (sometimes, if its over 20-25 squares, the measurements get lost) and the 3-d images showing? Is there an easy way to do this? Currently, I just use snagit and snag every aspect of the sketch that I need and throw it into an excel sheet to save to a PDF later.
