I am in my last year of college and would love to get a foot in the door for when I am in the "real world". I have been working for the last 2 years in the insurance industry and I am very interested in the adjusting side of the insurance world. I have my P&C and L&H Agent license; I also have my TX All-Lines Adjusters license. I am very determined and dedicated to what I do. I need some help however. I, for the life of me, cannot get a adjuster job. You would not believe the number of resumes I have send to IA companies and talked to on the phone. I really need some help getting an adjusting job and would really like to work some CAT work. At this point ill take an inside job or in the field job. Or if you know any seasoned/female adjusters that need a young college student to climb roofs or do paper work, ANYTHING to get me some claims expierence!!

Ive taken NFIP, TWIA, FL Citizens and everyone says to just keep getting trained and take classes, but as a college student, I dont have the funds to drive and fly state to state to take these classes.

Anyways if you know of anyone that might beable to help a me out please send them my way!!

    Thanks,

    Brandon Foard

    Brandon,

#1 do NOT throw your cash away taking a bunch of courses, you can't become NFIP certified without 4 years of verifiable continuous experience working claims.

Your best bet is to stop hitting up IA firms and apply with carriers to become a staff adjuster trainee. Those positions usually require a  4 year degree which you will have soon.

There is no reason a college educated young man wouls want to become a CAT adjuster. In the beginning the work is minimal and inconsistent and expensive.

Becoming a staff adjuster trainee, the carrier will pay you to learn the business and that is what you should do!!!
