Just read the 3 adds for commercial cat. adjusters. All of the venders are well reguarded. Please note 7 to 10 years confirmed working experience.

experience is required to apply. Good adjusters are always needed on cat. losses and it seems the commercial underwriters thinks it takes 7-10 years. Many of us think that way.

Just below this is inside adjusters with staff experience to do temp work on storms on a day rate. This is whats needed in the future and it does not seem to be any fast tracks.

I have been following two family of adjusters in Houston for 50 years. The founders of the IA firm were managers for GAB when the firms were started. The oldest son of both got their CPCU designation before the fathers hired them as a trainee adjuster. Both worked for over 10 years before the were allowed to by into the partnership. Why would a father think thier sons were such slow learners?

If one of the son,s wanted a fast answer... both fathers gave a book with the answers to dig out and an trusted "hand" was ask.
