I had my license suspended for a year through DMV after refusing to take a breathalizer. My case was dismissed from the courts.

What are my chances on getting on with a carrier? I have lots of experience and unfortunately just went through this.

I don't think that would be a deal breaker. But I believe you should be forthcoming with the issue IF they request a MVR. When you come to the part of the application where this info is requested, of course be truthful but be sure to include the facts surrounding the issue. Clearly state it was suspended for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer and that the charges were dropped because in fact you were not intoxicated. Attach a separate paper to fully explain that.

Robbie has sugar coated the facts, the hard cold truth is that getting hired as a Catastrophe Adjuster is a competition, there are so many talented, experienced, licensed Catastrophe Adjusters looking for work that it is highly unlikely that anyone is going to hire an adjuster with a record. There are just too many people that don't have any blemishes and are skilled to boot.

Braden, I am inclined to agree with Chuck after some thought, however only as far as your license suspension would probably diminish your chance to work directly for a carrier. Now as far as an IA firm either staff or IA, you would probably be ok. I only say this from recent experience with a close friend who had a DUI and because of that DUI, he was overlooked by Worley.

Fortunately for him, Worley put him on a 6 month waiting period and he is now a happy camper  and just wrapped upworking clean up on his first event and after 2 days at home, Worley deployed him to (I don't know where) as a lead for a steep roof high roof team.

So this is with an actual DUI conviction, your situation seems far less egregious. Of course driving drunk is a stupid deadly mistake, but you were able to get this to go away w/o a conviction. You got lucky and I am sure you would never ,make that mistake again.
