I am looking for someone to mentor me in the field of claims adjusting. I would like to ride along or meet you at the claims location and learn the tools of the trade from someone experienced. I have been on the local fire department in Slidell for 22 years I am still employed with lots of off time. If you are in Slidell, La. or the surrounding area contact me thanks Phillip. 985-502-8905

    Hi Phillip,

are you looking to fill your off time hours or are you looking to retire from the Fire Department?  I have a group of fellow adjusters in the city of Metairie, Louisiana less than 30 minutes from your locale. They are CAT adjusters currently running day claims in the surrounding Parishes.

I don't know exactly what you do at the dept after 22 years (IE firefighter/engineer/EMT/Investigator/Arson Investigator/Lieutenant/Captain/Chief/Battalion Chief etc...)

With that being said, with your years on the deptartment you may indeed have abilities that carriers themselves would find important and if you are looking to retire from the dept. you may want to consider going the staff adjuster/Company adjuster trainee route.

If you are merely looking to work claims on your off hours, independent is a choice. However as with fires having NO schedule and can come from anywhere anytime, the same can be said for events that would preclude independent adjusters finding work and would very likely interfere with your current work hours.

If you would like to discuss further and I could at the very least put you on to a group of guys that may or may not be able to help you further, shoot me an email at Robby@avcatservices.com
