I am enrolled with USGS to be notified in the event of earthquakes over 6.0 anywhere in the world.  A weird thing happened yesterday.  At 11:17 AM Pacific time there was a report of a 6.9 earthquake in the Gulf of California near La Paz, Mexico.  Later they downgraded it to a 6.7.  Then, at 3:10 PM the USGS sent a report that "this event has been deleted after review by a seismologist."  This morning, however, it is still showing on the USGS earthquake map.  I see no evidence of retraction of the story by the news media.  They say that people are reporting no damage from what should have been a major quake.  Odd.

That is odd, I have a Shakemap feed on the Storm Page and it listed this Shakemap for a 6.7 quake on the 21st that may have been related to that event.
