Can anyone tell me why we aren'T getting the business we usually get from the Carriers because they are using staffers. They are going to have up to 2/3's the supplements on these claims they usually have when experienced adjusters complete them. it just doesn't pencil !!!

IA, s will always be need for overflow work. But changes have been coming about for year, over thirty years ago I working in Houston for a local IA who kept about 10 adjusters busy. One of our best accounts was non other than The Largest HO carrier in TX. or the US. All we did was overflow work that  "they" want to assign out for several reasons. Reason 1. was always it was very time consuming for staff and they could fix cost by fee bill assignments. The 2nd reason was "stickey" type and did not want their employee in the fray. I was their 4 years and right after our office xmas party each year we would be cut off, because of budgets. Four of us who worked for this biggie would drop $5.00 bill into a hat with the "cut back on date". The bosses son always won the $20.00 as I think daddy knew something.

Now on storm work staff and a few trusted IA,s can work  the basball size hail roof claims by Zip code old data by phone from any place in the world just by asking the right questions . You need to be more than a roof thumper to make a living as an IA. If you are a Cat. IA its all WOW, unless you are one of the social security numbers called out. All the carriers have a list of numbers and so do the vendors.
