    Hi Gang,

I am working on a certification for Royal Palm / THIG and I am completely confused by the way they want their estimates written for O&L.  The presentation says one thing, but the narrator says something different regarding how to write it up; the text says that RP/THIG wants it written on the main portion of the estimate, but the narrator says it should be written 25/75 split between the main estimate and O&L (as they are normally written); now it also refers to secondary water barrier...so could they possibly mean that they want the secondary water barrier written up with the main portion instead of split 25/75...thus the rest of the roof should be split up?  agh!

PLEASE HELP!!!!  If you have any idea how they want it written up, please tell me.  I've ben trying to reach the Admin people all day with no luck.  =(     I want to finish this soon.

    Thanks ahead of time!

    Christine

The best thing for you to do would be go to your manager and have them explain what they want you to do.  Else you're getting advice from someone who has nothing to do with it.

    Christine

First thing is you have to keep your wits about you , take a deep breath and relax!

Use your common sense and reasoning skills with the dilemma before and apply logic to the situation.

Situations exactly like this are going to happen  out in the field during a large scale CAT and instead of having the consequences of not passing a certification exam, you will be looking at the consequences of  the livelihoods of the insured at risk and on top of that you can have 50 other files in your bin that have to be done within 5 days.

So again, relax and use your acquired skills and come to the best conclusion you can , leave a message with admin and support you have a question and need clarity on the specifics and move from there.

You are going to have many situations during a CAT where you have done something one way , but the CAT manager spells out during orientation that the carriers want it done THEIR way.

Do your best with the information you have and if you fail the certification exam, oh well, you just weren't ready yet for that cert and there is no shame in that  and in the long run , failing that exam now is much better for you and the carrier and the insured because if for some reason you are able to pass because someone here on CADO gives you the right answer without you knowing , you are going to find yourself in the middle of a CAT and making a bad decision that at best shorts the insured the money needed to move on with their life or at worst setting up the carrier for a PA to get involved or a lawsuit and that's just bad for everyone involved.

There is nothing wrong with failing a certification exam , if your not ready , then your not ready.

    I wish you the best

Okay, I got it.  Thanks!  And I'll try to brush up on my Texan for next time!  ;)  hehehehe   I am multi-lingual you know.....English, Spanglish, Floridian (that's a new one! haha), New Englander, and Cajun.  Cajun being my favorite because you don't really have to pronounciate anything, you can run all your words into one whole sentence, and yell out a big "Ayeeeeee" at the end, and all is good and understood!

    Thanks!  :)
