    Hello,

I am a roofer with a few months experience. I am trying to understand the criteria used for determining damage to TLock shingles. It seems that I have seen a wide range in what one adjuster will damage out, and what another will not.

Can anyone please inform me of what I should be looking for before I recommend to a homeowner that they should contact their insurance?

    Thank you.

    Tim

It is NOT your job to involve yourself in a customers insurance affairs. Your job is to sell your services to the customer. Whether the customer wishes report a loss to his/her property is not any of your concern. When the customer signs your contract, the money is coming solely from the customers pocket.

dude, don't mind this old grumpy here...   Buy yourself a haag manual on roofing damage and study it... basically, what you are looking for is any kind of distress, whethere it bruises shingle mat or not...  pay attention to colateral damage as well ... and thanks for being out there, without you guys I would not be getting all this work :)
