Does anyone know of any IA firms or Insurers looking for adjusters to handle claims on foreclosed properties?  I have been doing this for about a year and a half, and I am looking for some additional work in this niche, especially in the Midwest.  Any input would be greatly appreciated!

As you know, I shared my thoughts with you in a private message. In addition to this, I would advise a couple of things when dealing with this type of claim.

    1. Follow the instructions of the assigning company on these claims very strictly.

    2. Remember who your insured is -- the lender. So what looks like owner inflicted damage may sometimes be considered vandalism with regard to the lender.

    3. Be careful of your own safety. When entering a vacant building, even in a nice neighborhood, be aware that someone may be squatting there, selling drugs out of the house, or operating a grow house or meth lab. Make sure someone knows where you are, when you enter the building and when you exit from it.
