Hi, I'm trying to get details on Wardlaw. Have any of you ever been deployed by Wardlaw? and what carriers do they work for?  I am thinking about going to their auto training class, I want to know if the class will offer training in physical damage estimate writing and if i will learn how to write a flood claim...not a one line claim, but a flood claim that is still repairable, like what do i have inspected or replaced, do i need to have the flood vehicle tore down, etc.    Thanks in advance for any help,   Liz

Hi Liz - I just took a class at Wardlaw (in Waco, TX , in case there are more than one - I can only speak for this location) on Physical Damage.  It was a two week class covering auto mechanic basics and writing estimates with Mitchell Ultramate.  We did cover flood loss but not in any great detail beyond learning basic conditions for total loss.  The class may be different if you are taking this for self education as an independent adjuster, but the staff at Wardlaw are professional, experienced, and very open to teaching and sharing their knowledge.  I was there for a group training for my employer so our training may have been a little more directed.  If you do decide to go, I would recommend doing as much research as you can going in with questions so that you can get the most out of your time.  You always do better with questions in hand, or at least being able to think of some as you go, for both retaining the information and taking advantage of the experience of other people.  Also, as a side note, the program of choice at Wardlaw is Exactimate, not Mitchell.  I'd actually be interested to see what their independent training would look like as opposed to our corporate.

Anyway, I hope this helps some.  It's a big financial commitment as I understand it, but all of my experiences with them (two week session plus a couple of one hour presentations at state meetings) have been positive ones as far as their ability and knowledge are concerned.

    Good luck!
