Anybody know how to do this without having to reinstall windows and Xactimate?  I'd like to try some new things with it but don't want to waste the money if I'm not working a claim.

If you called and spoke to someone at Xactware, I'm sure they would have no problem giving you another Demo code.

You might care to buy the s/w DVD from Xactware. I have heard that its faster, easier to load and allows you more flexibility to get repeat demo uses. However, the problem remains of being able to practise on it after 30 days and after you get deployed when you have active files. You should transfer active files to a back up source before your subscription expires and then you can reload them again when you get deployed (if you want to). However, you still lose all your settings, logos, cover page letters, etc. I wonder if anyone has tried partitioning a hrddrive and using one for a demo drive and one for active real claims?

The price list on the Demo version are not accurate prices.

If you are using version 25.2 or earlier you can just backdate your computer, before you launch XM8, to within the 30 trial period.  Version 25.4 and newer you have to uninstall and reinstall the program.  When reinstalling I believe you have to choose not to import old XM8 info or it will not allow you to continue as a trial session.

You can also do a data transfer to save a claim in a different location (at the control panel - on the right side- data transfer tab) before the expiration date. Then you can import that or all files you exported after you do the reinstall. This will allow you to bring in your saved information from the prior claims. You can then copy and paste as needed.

I ordered the disk. They told me to uninstall completely then reinstall and you are good for 30 more days. You can do this as many times as you want.

Does anyone know if this is still the case with Xactimate 25 and/or 27?
For evaluation purposes only, can the program be installed and uninstalled with the disk?
If so, that would be helpful information to pass on to the new guys; no sense in them paying for the program to practice. They'll pay enough once they're working!

I used 27 then called sales to re load it and they said that would be the last time I would have to pay for it after the 15 day period.

Yep no reason to practice if it cost. No reason to practice on your own. Why waste time ...you will never get in the game.

Just make sure that you don't backdate your computer if you're running XM827.  The likelyhood of your computer locking up is really good!

Xactimate staff informed me that you could uninstall X25 to renew the demo process for learning.
However, this functionality has been removed in X27.

    Best,
