    Ladies & Gentlemen:

We are pleased to announce today that Cunningham Lindsey has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase GAB Robins’ international businesses (excluding its UK operations) and their U.S. forensic engineering firm, EFI Global. This acquisition will further Cunningham Lindsey’s position as a leading provider of loss adjusting and claims management services to the global insurance markets.

The combined strength of these international organizations including Cunningham Lindsey’s market leading position in their existing markets including the United States, UK, Canada, Europe, the Middle-East, India and Asia together with GAB Robins’ leading positions in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and EFI Global establishes the most expansive geographic platform in the industry with over 600 offices and 5,600 employees in more than 70 countries.

Collectively, the operations of Cunningham Lindsey, GAB Robins International (excluding its UK operations), and EFI Global are complementary with minimal overlap in their geographic, operational, and client base. The synergies achieved from this new enterprise offer significant strategic, operational and financial benefits that will translate into expanded service capability, expertise, and leadership positions in all major regions of the world, including the fast growing economies of China and India.

The substantial operational scale of the combined company will further enhance the high level of service afforded to its global client base of insurers, brokers, and international corporations and optimally positions Cunningham Lindsey to be the provider of choice for large multi-national accounts and major insurance carriers who are seeking a consistent global service.

This combination of the second and third worldwide loss adjusting firms significantly enhances the capability to handle claims at all levels of complexity from personal lines through multi-disciplined large losses with the leading major loss adjusting teams within Cunningham Lindsey International.

The executive management of Cunningham Lindsey, GAB Robins’ acquired companies and EFI Global are enthusiastic about the opportunities that the new ownership and greater operational scale will present. These operating units will continue to meet their customers’ service expectations in each country through their global account managers, claims adjusters and experts ensuring business continuity throughout the organizations.

Based in Houston, EFI Global is a full-service forensic engineering, fire investigation, environmental and specialty consulting services firm serving commercial, industrial, institutional, insurance, government, public and private entities. For more than 30 years, EFI Global has helped clients manage risk with forensic analyses, defendable loss evaluations, and strategic environmental solutions. The addition of EFI Global will greatly reinforce Cunningham Lindsey’s current product offerings as a global risk management service provider.

The new company will operate under the Cunningham Lindsey brand identity. Cunningham Lindsey is owned by Trident IV, L.P., a private equity fund managed by Stone Point Capital LLC, a leading private equity firm specializing in the global insurance and financial services sectors, Fairfax Financial Holdings, a financial services holding company engaged in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and investment, and management. Stone Point Capital acquired its interest in Cunningham Lindsey in December 2007. Charles A. Davis, the CEO of Stone Point Capital, said: ”We are excited about Cunningham Lindsey’s acquisition of these attractive segments of the GAB Robins Group. We have been impressed with the track record of successful growth and innovation embodied by this group of companies. We welcome GAB Robins and EFI Global management as partners in the combined business.”

Philippe Bès, formerly President of the international operations of GAB Robins, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Cunningham Lindsey Group. Mr. Bès said: “Cunningham Lindsey’s shareholders, Stone Point Capital and Fairfax Financial, see the strategic benefit of merging selected businesses of GAB Robins with Cunningham Lindsey to create an international business with truly significant scale and expanded global reach. I look forward to leading the combination of two businesses with such impressive histories and reputations under the Cunningham Lindsey brand. This merger will provide our customers with expanded service capabilities and expertise while presenting employees of both companies with enhanced opportunities.”

Brera Capital Partners LLC will continue to own loss adjusting businesses of GAB Robins in the United Kingdom and the United States as well as third party administration operations in the United States.

Both Cunningham Lindsey and GAB Robins’ international operations have a history of relying on what we regard as strong local management teams within each operating company. This successful approach will be continued and embraced in the new organization as management believes that it provides clients with an optimal mix of global services and local expertise. We will continue to regularly inform our clients on the progress made with the integration of our operating units.

Now that just makes my day! First a new computer and now GAB is part of Cunningham. I wonder if Custard is for sale.

The headline on this thread is a bit misleading.  CL apparently purchased the overseas operations of GAB (which was originally the Robins of GAB Robins) and the engineering division (EFI), but GAB, North America (including the Cat operations) is still a separate entity and not part of this purchase.  I verified this yesterday with my contacts at GAB.  GAB has actually been bought and sold several times in the past.  This is different only in that it is splitting up the American and International parts of the company and it is another independent adjusting firm that purchased them.

Ah the Western Adjusting Company that turned into GAB in the 50;s. All my property adjuster instructors were from this background. In the middle 50;s it seems all the IA property adjusters were ex from one or both. Back in those days it was a stock and mutual fire insirance devide in the agency plants and also the IA adjusters. Gab had most of the stock companys and the  mutal IIA agents used local IA's. Today they are all blended into one and the captive agency system has may have as much as 85% of the Homeowners market.I haveeen blessed to have worked for many VP of claims on a one on one relationship and many fine underwriters in London, France, Norway, Italy and Bermuda and set in the First Class section to several continents.

I will start chemo & radiation this week for B2 lung cancer. I will meet up with many of you again at another tgolden parking lot some day. I so not want any calls or emails, but I will keep reading the post on CADO and CLAIMSMENTOR and would welcome any worthwhile mention of any of my post, but I would really like  beter some mention of some of my most outlandish and far fetched opines and I had my share.

Apparently Steve is correct. The press release is misleading. I have friends that have worked for CL (Contractors & Employees) that advised me regarding their current management and this supports their contentions.

Here is a link from a trade publication that explains what occurred.

Ray, I am so very sorry to hear about your upcoming radiation and cancer. I have been battling those issues as many know with my adult daughter so I know how rough it is for you and for your family. You have done so much for so many training them in this field. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Ray,

I will add my well wishes and prayers for you with the others.

Also, if I may, I'd suggest you spend some time talking with other people that have experienced your condition. The term "support group" sounds kind pf "touchy-feely", but it can really help to know what to expect and remove as many of the unknowns as possible. Just my two cents.

    Good luck.

Cunningham Lindsey is a JOKE!!! I worked for them with all kinds of promises from R O the manager from houston... The first day I had over 20 claims GL, Property losses (commercial) casualty, heavy truck losses pd and bi, foundation claims, scattered from san antonio to laredo to eagle pass and hell... Ok I have been an adjuster for over 25 years... they expected a full report in 7 days.. now the commercial claims were apartment complexes... 3 in fact with over 20 units... with a pa adjuster... and a full report in 7 days!!!! give me a brake for one adjuster... as days roll on more and more claims are received... more and more emails what is the status with this claim that claim in one month over 90 claims were assigned to me and they wanted them closed... so RO got his fat ass to san antonio, to fat to climb a ladder and was going to assist toget caught up.... but he could not stay off the phone long enough with his wife, daughter and who to f____ else to close any files then would leave and go back to Houston.. then call me i did this claim for you... now they pay a WHOPPING 25% commision they do not disclose at first... so any way after a month I said im done... then RG from dallas calls me dont quit ...dont quit... f___ him the as_h___ e... Now to this day that company has never reimbursed me for my cell phone usage... and emails have not been answered... well they have you sign a no compete agreement for one year... now the year is gone and then some... guess what....your right .. no more said.... this company sucks... RO the manager is a liar and a-want-a-bee. so be careful...

Donnie,  my wife and I have worked for Cunningham Lindsey now for 11 years. Sure, they have some problems just like all vendors do, but what you are saying doesn't seem like reality. You hired on and were not aware of the pay scale, really. I would not work for anyone without knowing what the guidelines are and how much money I would be making. We have had very few problems working for CL, and of those we had were demands/guidelines from the carriers they represent. They have no control of reporting requirements set forth by the carriers.

Your presentation of your alleged problem, with the use of profane language reveals much. Your presentation of the problem could and should have been much more professional. What you presented was more of a hissy fit, than an explanation. Why don't you try it again and attempt to be more professional.
Think about it and try it again.

    Donnie,

I agree with Mr. Toll, your presentation is anything but professional. If you really want to make this public, do so in the proper manner.

I know the Manager from Houston and can believe your story. RO has his position not because he is qualified, but because he has friends in the right places. It was the same when he managed the CC office. Right now I would not advise anyone to consider CL. Ethical management is lacking and pay issues are common. Cunningham Lindsey has been going down ever since they brought in management from Crawford & Co. One wonders why the president & most of the VPs are all ex-Crawford executives that had less than stellar careers at Crawford.
