    Many adjusters have worked IKE losses for TWIA. The TWIA price list is very reasonable and was intended to settle the rather small wind losses from IKE. Example the minimum roof repair is $500. this is about 350 to 400% more than the data base prices before IKE. Not many of these losses require a General Contractor and you do not see the usual mark up for this. But you see a whole loss of minimum roof repair, minimum siding repairs, minimum glass repairs, minimum electrician repairs and so forth. Drywall R & R ready for paint 2.50 SF.
     
    Now comes the big question how will this increase in about 7 Texas counties have a ripple effect on all the storm losses nationwide for the next 48 months. How would you like to adjust a roof loss in Sulpher, LA this week using xm8 prices. If the water suckers are on the ball in Texas sucking water will go up 50% when regular gas is now $1.50 per gal.

    It's more than the 7 or so coastal counties because Texas FAIR Plan, the non-coastal sister company of TWIA, uses the same price list. Of more interest to me is the way those companies paid their adjusters. Besides a very competitive fee schedule, they pay excellent software, cell phone, photograph, mileage and fuel surcharge allowances. The bottom line is a lot better than I was getting from my former employer. Will your 'ripple effect' extend into adjuster pay?

     I never accepted it, but a lot of folk think xm8 is the bible when it come to insurance reconstruction. I thought the water suckers and xm had a meeting in Vegas from Dec 26th to Jan 1st with in put from the big 5 homeowner  insurors on what is fair and proper line item pricing for necessary labor and material prices. TWIA is the street adjusters best friend,but they may cause a problem for the purist.
     
    We should all just try to get along and go back to xm8, but adopt TWIA fee schedule and the add on's as the new floor price.
