Is there any harm in holding a adjusters license along with a p & c agents license.

If you mean, Producer license where you "sell" insurance.....the answer is yes. With many carriers it is a conflict of interest and they will not deploy you or let you handle claims. Choose one or the other.
Give them what they want, when they want it, and how they want it !

Most states will only allow one or the other. Some states will allow you to hold a Life & Health agent license while holding a P&C adjusting license.

    True AA.

Also, some carriers give their Agents draft authority to settle and resolve claims up to a certain $ amount.

So what if you a P&c agent license already, do you deactivate it or something?

Depends on the state. Each respective state will tell you.

As of now only North Carolina has a rule for holding Adjuster and Producers license. I dont see why there is a problem with holding multiple licenses as if your not deployed as a adjuster you can always work as a agent for an insurance company. When things are slow. Right now Liberty Mutural is training me in a small group

and they have paid for my online courses, testing, and license. ( Passed the test ) Which I have completed it all. now they are licensing me in all states as a producer at there expense. Being 2013 was a really dead year for adjusting thought this could be helpful during slow times. Job is 11 miles from home and gives me something to do and earn a few extra dollars. What do you Guys Think ?

I am glad that NC has the rule of "one or the other". Less opportunity for problems.

Have just been contacted by my current adjusting firm that I have worked for since 2005, that I cannot have adjusters and agent license at the same time. I have been put on hold for 30 days and will be removed from employement with them if I do not surrender my agents licence. I was the one who informed them of my agents licence after Texas approved with my passsing the agents test.
I really dont see why you cant have both as long as you work one position at a time. Guess I should have not been soo honest with them.

    Willinsky,

Why ask a question only to disagree with every response?

You ask a question, get the same answer from not only this forum's participants, but the NCDOI as well as your EMPLOYER and yet all you can muster in response is, "this is what I get for being "SOO"(sic) honest?"
