as a matter of fact I dare any adjuster on this forum to go head to head with me in coverage Q and A session, we can do commercial and residential policies, including time element, inland marine, WC, auto, crime, equipment breakdown, farm... we will do it in real time on this forum, one side asks the question, other answers it with a computer or not, does not matter, let's see if you can walk the walk

I THINK YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO UPSET RAY ! MAYBE YOU OUGHT TO TRY TO DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE WE ALL COULD LEARN FROM.
I SURE HOPE YOU DON'T TREAT YOUR CLIENTS LIKE YOU DO RAY, & EVERYONE ELSE.

Whoa!  How did you avoid getting the 'mumbling septuagenarians' as clients?
I need to learn that trick!

Ray is it poor eyesight or trembling hands? or general ignorance of a guy that never went to college? use spellcheck, buddy....  as for the matter at hand, every insurance company that gives Crawford work is routinely called "client". Second, can you clarify what you were mumbling about pro rata? what form?

I got a coverage question for you olegred

Olegred's "friend" comes over for a late night "visit". The "friend" enters through the back door. When the "friend" enters Olegred gets excited and kicks over the lamp. Is there subrogation potential against the "friend" for the broken lamp?

AND

Have some respect for your elders ahole.

AND

College does not make you smart. It is the biggest scam in history. I have 3 degrees but at least I recognize it was a scam to steal my money. The only reason it works is because people like you think it makes you smarter than people that don't have a degree.

I think this could be a great job for a young family.  I would try to find a staff posistion with a company that require that you work out of your home as a "Resident Adjuster".  You usually get a company car, computer and any other nessassary equipment.  This is how i started out years ago and it was a perfect setup.  Since you manage your own territory your time is your own.  I was able to be spend alot of time with my kids.  It got kind of tuff when i was trying to work at home when the kids are banging on the door, but i would give nothing for it.  Farmers is a great company and this is how their adjusters work.  Try them.

Olegred, explain the "unerned premium clause" in the HO-3 . The other clause is the pro rata distribution clause.

Oh, my! Looks like our pal has his blood up. Maybe he'd feel all better with a local from the local Lola.

Aah! The fires of youth always consume them.

Olegred,

Agreed respect is not a matter of age, however it goes both ways.

The purpose of this web site and this thread, in my opine, is to share our knowledge and learn from each other. We should all try to play nice and remember every one likes a little a**  but no one likes a smart a**.

Ray Hall, Ol' Ghost, Tom Toll and many many people, including you my friend,  have been kind enough to share their experiences with all of us. For someone, young or old, seeking to start a career in adjusting or looking to better educate themselves there is a wealth of information available as we each bring something different to the party.

I agree 100%, but I am sick and tired of some ppl acting like they are freaking stars and know everything in the word, Ray may have more experience but that is not the reason to be an arrogant grumpy sob

Ray is not being a grumpy, arrogant SOB. He has earned the respect of the rest of us who have paid our dues and trod the same path he has. You, too, will earn the respect due you the longer you serve in our industry, the foundation of which is service to the Insureds and the contract they purchased. In fact, with each roof you climb to investigate and assess for covered damages, or each toilet overflowed house you tromp thru, or each kitchen grease fire, or every vandalized mailbox, etc., etc, etc., you as well are earning respect by paying your dues.

Worry not. You'll get there, one loss at a time. Then will come the day some aspiring soul will tweak your ears or twist your tail, "Olegred??? He's just some old cranky grouch not worthy of my time nor anyone elses. He has some nerve trying to tell me how the cow eats the cabbage!"
