Tony, thank you for this priceless information!! The highest distinction is "service to others" and your efforts are appreciated. I sure wish there were more folks like you . Even though we sometimes chew out a rookie for asking the same questions a thousand times, I think most of us here on CADO well let's just say our bark is worse than our bite and in the end I think we all want to help the newer folks.

Thank you!!

For all of our newly licensed brethren, regardless whether you have never worked a storm or that you don't have the requisite experience needed to become NFIP certified, download this manual ANYWAY. Go to the annual NFIP workshops and learn how flood guys work. Remember that you don't have to be NFIP certified to work flood claims. As long as an NFIP certified adjuster will sign off on your work, you can work those claims. Also with this year turning into the "Year of the Flood adjuster", if the finite group of us that are NFIP certified become overwhelmed with flood claims, the next step is to start contacting those folks who indeed took the workshop and can supply a completion cert for the NFIP workshop. So if you are a motivated rookie or any adjuster with less than 4 years experience and you took the workshop, well my friends you WILL be called upon and emergency certified and you will be able to keep that NFIP designation long after those claims are closed

The flood claims seem to outnumber wind claims by almost 4 to 1.

hey Catadjuster,

I just finally got caught up on my claims. How is it going on the east coast are they still in need of flood  & wind adjusters?

Are there still lots of claims to handle? I talked to one of my close adjuster friends and he said they have spread him all over. I also heard same thing from one of my close friends doing strictly commercial claims. He said the majority of his commercial calims were turning out to be more wind than flood. he said he was having to stay in a different area every night.
