Before the rumors start, it only cost me $5 to get Melanie to say nice things about me! (She's a cheap bribe! LOL!)

There were about 20 people that were at the get-together and I think everyone had a good time. Only about 4-5 of us had previously known each other so many new friends were made. The key to these kinds of things is to remember that WE ARE A COMMUNITY and, as such, it is OUR responsibility to continue to grow professionally as an industry. Developing relationships and contacts is a major key because, let's face, as IAs we are at the bottom of the food chain in the claims process. That's reality. So we address that by being supportive and banding together to address our common needs and concerns.

I would encourage others around the country to organize these sorts of events and continue the process.

Kevin,

Thanks, I had a great time. I guess you'll have to let the wife go to Mexico more often so we can have more "Get togethers". It was nice to see you guys and put faces with CADO names. I hope all of us will keep in touch, especially on a couple of our discussions.

The future as we know it now was the big topic. The two hot topics were Pilot/Allstate and experience adjusters with ar least three years field work.

Pilot/Allstate will assign you your claims on a dailey basis with appointments made for the next day. The adjuster will not be assigned more than 3 the first day , until you can prove you can handle more. This seems to mean you will have to slow down and do it THEIR way, then work your way up.

Debbi Ward posted on the Claims Mentor site: A very large carrier in Florida has ask her to find a minimum 3 year adjuster to scope and do the field work; BUT not the estimate this will be done by the INSIDE ADJUSTER and the % will be 45% of the total bill. This should really result in faster turnaround and better work product for all concerned. Now the fast people can make more and do less paper.
